According to haz.de Sal Zizzo had a cruciate ligament rupture in today's practice, resulting usually in a break of at least 6 months. club doctor Kregehr is quoted with saying that he's afraid this could utrn into 9 months in this case.
That's pretty horrible for him.
Imo he had no future at 96 anymore but now he can't even show good efforts for our second team and make himself interesting for other teams.
Feel bad for him. Certainly his time here was not what he expected when he joined 96.
The heart issue derailing a loan and now an ACL injury. Wow! What a crummy few months it has been for Zizzo. A definite emotional rollercoaster. He's shown some promise and was at least getting some "mop up" minute here and there for 96. In the end all this will make him stronger. I wish him a full recovery. I've been there, done that and it won't be an easy road but once it heals and you gain strength, the knee will be stronger than ever.
More bad news for Sal. It's going to be a long road back. He'll have to put his head down and dig deep. If he can't find a spot with a decent team in Europe when he's healthy, MLS will be waiting for him.
