Default J. Warner on England 2018: "They have yet to give me a cut"

FIFA vice-president Jack Warner has criticised England's bid for the 2018 World Cup. The CONCACAF president thinks that if voting for who will stage the finals were to take place today, England would finish second.

The decision will be made in fourteen months' time, and Warner feels that there is much work to do for the birthplace of football.

"The perception out there amongst my colleagues is that England has not yet wowed them, has not yet given them a raison d'etre as it were to support the bid - and that is what is critical," he told Sky Sports News.

"And that is what is crucial, very important. It can't be the same old same old. Nobody wants to see the England bid of 2005, 2004. They want to see something innovative, something creative.

"I would tell them that they have to find new ways of doing things if they want to be successful."

And Warner has very kindly offered to help the England bid, indicating that there are many strengths to it, including, somewhat bizarrely perhaps, the Royal Family.

"I have asked for a private meeting with the leadership of the bid before I leave England to discuss with them in some broad detail what I believe can be done," he added.

"Then one looks at the fact that England has all these attributes: best facilities, good infrastructure, good football tradition, the best Premier League, the Monarchy. I mean you name it, they have it.

"And yet for all that they haven't been able to wow the guys who have to vote for them. There is something wrong.

Excellent, appropriate title for a thread.

Although he does have some points.

The royal family, though????

"Ooooh! Ooooh! I wanna meet the queen! Pick me! Pick me!"

So I guess Warner is looking for an "innovative and creative" bribe... and a meeting with the Queen.

Give him a Corgi.

But train it to attack his jugular beforehand when it hears the words "So how about a piece of the action?".

They won't prosecute the Queen.

Warner can go fuck himself. He's envious of England. We couldn't get his support if he was knighted while the queen gave him a BJ.

I don't know, man- last time she drained my nuts, I ran out and bought an England shirt- she was just that good. Warner'll support you, and he might not even worry about the money.
