Hey folks, I'm looking to be in Italy next March/April for about 2 weeks. Lucky for me the Serie A games are on the weekends... thus 2 matches (1 each weekend).
That being said have any of you been to match over there? Did you buy your ticket locally or before hand? From scalpers or ticket shops? Where did you sit? Any problems?
I'm pretty much going to pay whatever the ticket costs (but won't try to break the bank) seeing that I have the opportunity to catch these games in this atmosphere.
Anyways, if you have any info or a story .. let me know!
many of us here have been to matches and there are those who live in italy.
What cities will you be in? That'll help as there are multiple places to get tickets.
I bought at hour before the match at the Olimpico for Lazio-Bologna 4-5 years ago, if you are good with the language you can probably get a deal with a scalper.
I have never been to a game but I think I may know a thing or two. As of buying from a scalper, I am not sure if that is possible anymore. The ticket would have your name on it and when entering the stadium you must show I.D, especially if the game is considered high risk of violence and if your sitting in one of the curves.
If you are in one of the curves (Curva Nord), do not expect to actually sit down and I dont think there is a designated seat. As for your Lazio game you may attend, I know there is a store called Lazio Style where they sell Lazio merchandising and tickets. For seating in the Olimpico, La Curva Nord is a heated place to sit plus the Distiniti Nord or Tribuna Tevere are closer to the field. As for transportation around the olimpico, I hear catching a bus is a nightmare and cabbing or driving with someone is best.
