Has anyone been to a match IN Italy?
Hey folks, I'm looking to be in Italy next March/April for about 2 weeks. Lucky for me the Serie A games are on the weekends... thus 2 matches (1 each weekend).
That being said have any of you been to match over there? Did you buy your ticket locally or before hand? From scalpers or ticket shops? Where did you sit? Any problems?
I'm pretty much going to pay whatever the ticket costs (but won't try to break the bank) seeing that I have the opportunity to catch these games in this atmosphere.
Anyways, if you have any info or a story .. let me know!
Cheers,
Karlo

Yeah, I live in Florence. And I bought them from the official ticket venders, near the stadium in Florence. Tickets aren't hard to find.
Was at the Fiorentina - Liverpool game the other day, was amazing!

What part of firenze do you live in? I lived there from 2001-2005. At first it was across giardino bobboli, then lungarno giucciardini then piazza signoria and then up at piazzale michelangelo. it was kool for a while then it got a little old....
Anyway, when I lived there , Fiorentina became Florentia Viola and I attended matches at the artemio franchi . You couldn't believe they were in the C2 in 02/03 and there were 33,000 screaming fans. Only holdover was Angelo Di Livio. He stayed on thinking Diego Della Valle would give him a future with the club after he retired but he rennegged....typical...

Re: Has anyone been to a match IN Italy?
Thanks for the info!
Plane tix are bought and our itinerary slightly changed.
Here are the games we need tickets for...
Fiorentina v Udinese (in Florence)
Lazio v Napoli (in Rome).
My gut tells me that we can walk up for the Florence game but might have to buy the Rome game in advance?
Watcha think?

Careful, tickets in Italy in stadium above 7,500 spectators are NOMINAL, which means you'll need your passport in order to buy one and get in to the stadium. Many times tickets are not sold on game day, or not after a certain hour. I suggest you to buy in advance, if you have the time (there's a Lazio Point not far from the stadium open daily).
Regarding Lazio-Napoli - be very careful. I don't think Neapolitan fans will be allowed to buy tickets and see the game because of problems of public order. Which could also mean that tickets may only be sold to residents of Roma and its province (in which case you're out of luck); that's a ridicolous measure since there are thousands of Napoletani who are residents of Roma and have lived there for many years. This gives you the measure of Italian football in this moment. The Lazio supporters will be on the hunt for Napoli supporters, make sure you are not mistaken for one of them, there have been people injured - sometimes even by knives. If you need to know more, send me a message
