Default Chicago Fire Anniversary Celebration, Oct. 8, 6:00 PM Toyota Park

Frank Klopas approached Section 8 Chicago because he wanted to throw a party to help raise money for a bus for an inevitable playoff road trip. His basic premise is to buy a roasted pig and a lamb, get everyone together to have a drink or two, eat lots of meat and have fun. Hard to argue with that.

After much hemming and hawing Frank, the ISA and the Fire decided on Thursday, October 8th, and to make this a celebration of the 12th anniversary of the announcement of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club.

All you can eat and drink (while supplies last).

$15 in advance, $20 at the door.
$20 for bus and entry.
$5 for kids 12 and under in advance, $10 at the door.

Purchase your tickets here:

http://store.section8chicago.com

More details here:

So far Frank Klopas and Peter Wilt are confirmed attendees. We'll be reaching out to others as well and try to confirm who can make it. The hope is to grow this party into an annual tradition where we bring back more old timers next year.

I hope to see all of you there.

This is exactly the kind of thing that's needed to bring back the sense of family.

Great call, Frank.

I'll just pay at the door. See you there. Hopefully I can drag a few other folks with me.

Please do grab a few extra folks. And yes, one of Frank's concerns is the sense of family.

This party is supposed to be for everyone. I really hope a lot of you make it out. This should become a nice tradition for all of us fans.

But this family is just the die hards in Section 8 right?

A party on a Thursday? At 6 p.m.? Maybe for people that live or work near TP or are students.

But parents with kids (who have school the next day and homework to complete or soccer pracitce) or people who commute from downtown aren't invited by your choice of time and date. Understanding, of course that it is a historical date in the club's franchise.

We can't make the 8th fall on a different day or put Toyota Park somewhere it isn't.

Seriously though, there are always limitations and it's unfortunate if you can't make it. Obviously no one is going to be excluded by choice so I hope as many of you as possible can come out. Let's make it the best we can this year an keep it growing every year.

This is a great opportunity for the Chicago Fire community to celebrate both the anniversary and this great game with friends, family and fans, all of whom are the lifeblood of our club," said Frank Klopas, the team's technical director who's also serving as the event's host.

Who's bright idea was it to host a party on a Thursday night outdoors in October! LOL

When I first read the thread I'm like hells yeah I'm gonna be there, october 8th here I come... I move my mouse over to the time icon on the right corner of my windows bar and see that Today is the sixth meaning that the 8th is on a thursday.

Wow.

Anyone want to go to the beach with me on Tuesday January 12th at 10 Am?
