So Mexico has pulled out of the running for 2018/2022...
Which means that the US is a shoo-in for 2022!! Whoo!
Unless Australia steps up their campaign...which I think would be a great place to have a WC, but how great would it be if the tournament came home in 13 years..

Personally I hope it isn't staged in the US as I prefer to go somewhere nice for the World Cup. Plus the atmosphere just isn't the same here during the WC compared to a soccer/futbol country. Personally I'm pulling For England '18 and Australia '22.

I disagree about the atmosphere part--if youre talking about inside the stadiums. There will be enough foreign fans travelling here to the US if we do get the WC to make up for a huge atmosphere--but regardless, all WC matches get toned down abit due to the large amounts to tickets sold to neutrals for each match.
Outside the stadium, it will be a tough task to get some excitement going I agree, but I think by 2022 the country will be much more excited about it and knowledgeable than we were in 94. Fifa and Germany did an awesome job in getting Fan Fests set up near all the venues, and I think that will be a standard from now on.
As far as australia goes, they arent a soccer country either, more Rugby and Aussie rules. But they do know how to throw a party.

I meant outside the stadia away from the matches. Inside the stadium it'll be fun no matter, but the general atmosphere of the entire country won't be the same. I agree that Australia isn't necessarily a soccer country, but if they are hosting the WC it'll dominate the 'mood' of the country unlike it would here.

I'm not convinced, the News LTd papers have done everything they can to shoot down football in Australia. Also it's in the middle of the Rugby League & AFL seasons, and while they've said they'll support the world cup, they have all the stadiums at that time of year, I think there's going to be one all mighty fight when everybody realises what Australia hosting the World Cup will mean.
I honestly think England 18 US 22 Australia 26

I think '18 Ned/Bel, '22 Aus, '26 US, '30 Eng (centennial) would just be great ! (No bias here! )

I just think England has too much momentum right now to not be awarded the competition in '18. After being shunned during the 80's 90's, they seem ready to be redeemed by the football governing bodies; also the finishing of Wembley, the strength of the Prem, etc...
Its just the incidents like the recent Millwall-West Ham debacle that count as strikes against them, but those are too few and far to have a significant negative impact.
