For Bryan James, co-founder of the soccer support club Sons of Ben, the announcement is a little disappointing, but certainly not enough to dampen spirits.

“They’re doing it right, by wanting to make sure it’s done right rather than done fast,” he said, adding that the move would allow Philadelphia Union an opportunity to have two grand openings: One at the Linc and one at their future home turf.

He said the club, which has climbed to 5,200 members over the summer, has been closely watching the construction and gearing up for the big kick-off.

“Now, we’re 60 days away from getting actual players. It’s really cool. And it seems like something people are really getting more excited about,” he said.

Way to get that 60 - 90 day reference in there.
