I for one appreciated the silence of respect for Bobby Robson at the Barcelona v LAG game.

I was moved by this article and wanted to share it, because Mr Robson was an absolute ambassador for the world's best game.

The North East was further represented by Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn and Middlesbrough chief executive Keith Lamb. John Motson, Sam Alladyce, Harry Rednapp, Steve Bruce, Mick McCarthy, Terry Venables

From Barcelona came president Joan Laporta and no fewer than nine others; from Porto came Victor Baia, from PSV Eindhoven, Frits Schuitema.

There are times I struggle with Sir Alex's verbal spoutings....but this one I found heart-warmings as an insight to things we the fans don't see.

He was a class act.

The world (soccer and in general) is a poorer place for his passing.

RIP Sir Bobby!
