10/14 Viewing Parties New York (Times Square?)
I am going to be in New York on the 14th. I assume there will be a viewing party at Nathan Hales, but I will be in the Times Square area -- any viewing parties up there?

No, there arent viewing parties at Nathan Hale's. Groups havent gathered there for a few years.
There are two MAIN spots, organized by two different groups.
The RBNY/ESC group has viewing parties at Nevada Smith's on 3rd ave between 11th and 12th st.
Closer to Times Square, the Borough Boys/American Outlaws group has viewing parties at Jack Dempsey's which is on W 33rd st, between 5th and 6th ave.
Hope this helps.

Thanks -- it helps a lot.
I know Nevada Smith's well -- my wife and I used to hang out there for soccer when we lived in NY B.C. (before children)
I know of Jack Dempsey's, never realized a group met there.
What happened to Nathan Hale's?

9-11, it was within the 2nd security zone and it was closed for several months. It was never the same.

But I spent much of the 2002 World Cup in Nathan Hales. I also had a bunch of ESC members serenading me with songs about hot male on male love one day after DC pulled out a late win against Metro.
I am sorry the place is not the same.

Yeah, Nathan Hale's doesnt get much, if any, of a crowd for US matches. Nevada's or Dempsey's are the best spots.
Dempsey's is a fairly new one, so thats why life AC (after children) may not have you acquainted with it.

Nathen Hales has been out of business since 2006, reopened breifly as Ex-hales then was closed for a couple years. Its a new bar now with new owners and just opened up a few ago. No soccer anymore.
Nevada's is definatly showing the game on the 14th (its not a RBNY/ESC bar its a USA fans bar...ESC uses it for their games too) and the 10th.
They have the closed circuit Honduras game for $20 and as far as I know arte one of the few places in NYC that will be showing it.
