Default What opponents should we line up in November?

(Knock on wood) If we get the results in the next couple of games to ensure a top 3 finish in the hex, we have the enviable problem of lining up 2 opponents in the FIFA international match dates in November when playoffs will be taking place around the world for the final spots in the World Cup.
Where should we play our matches? Where do you think we'll be playing our matches? And whom should we play in our matches.
I'm thinking the matches will either be in Europe or the USA -- we'll get better opponents if we play in Europe. I'm thinking one of the matches will be against Germany or France. We've played Spain, Brazil and England relatively recently, and with our performance in the Confederations Cup, top teams may consider us a healthy challenge and be more willing to line up a match against us.
So, my questions are: where do you think we'll play and against whom -- and then where do you want us to play and against whom?

I'd love to see a trip to Europe/Africa in november.
Who I think we'll end up playing:
-Poland
-Sweden
-Denmark/Belgium

Who we SHOULD be playing:
-Holland
-France
-Portugal

I also wouldnt mind a visit to north africa at the end of the trip to play the Ivory Coast or Cameroon.

this has been mentioned on other threads but theres two ways you can go into this:

1. you wait for the draw then play nations simular to the ones in your group. this way you can get used to the style of play.

or

2. play three hard teams to get used to the level of play. my example is our spring freindlies of 2008. england, spain, argentina. every game we got better and our level of play rose. then we came out and smacked barbados because we where still on a high from the friendlies. then in the confederations cup we played italy, brazil, and egypt. we consistantly got better beating spain and going up 2 on brazil.

ill go with 2, it helps.

As long as it's in Dallas they can play the Falkland Islands for all I care. But agree, any big Euro or SA team. It will be the Poland's, Sweedes... ect of the world.

I wish they would schedule a friendly ahead of the Honduras game to prepare the team for that. Mexico is with a game against Colombia in Dallas i think, at the end of this month.

November ? well ok if they want to but no need. Like someone said lets wait to see who's in our group and then play similar style teams.

But since you asked...my opinion is .....they should call in only european based yanks and play mid level teams. No other reason but to see how we fare up against someone like the Swiss or Slovakia or Scotland or Croatia. Now you talking. Playing Italy England Germany Holland is like ok they lost to some good teams what you expect. And defending with 9 guys doesnt realy help our guys and proves nothing.

Maybe we can play Spain, Morocco or Egypt in December (since I'm trying to work out a Spain/North Africa trip after finals )
