Green has been criticised for his performance against Slovenia, albeit mainly from the usual Sheff Utd loving suspects.
I don't necessarily encourage you all to visit their site but if you wish to then here is a link to The Mirror's article on Green's performance, followed sharply by a few comments putting the Blades fan who wrote it in his place:
We can get riled at the poor journalism if we want, but really we should be getting used to this by now. Also we should be wise to the fact that as long as these poor articles keep attracting angry West Ham fans to The Mirror's website they are going to keep writing them.
My main concern is with Green. A while ago I was worried that England's number one shirt may be a poison chalice and the inevitible criticism he recieves could destroy his confidence.
With the press and some fans always willing to criticse whoever stands between the posts, are we witnessing the beginning or the end of Green's England career?
