I think he would put a premium on possession and creative ball, thus the given at center midfield. It is all about creativity there, and its not as if Torres cant play defense. Aguirre would also want a defender who could play the ball from the back up to our forwards. Despite weaknesses of Spector in the air he can play a mean ball from the back as we saw from the Confederations cup.
Ah, the dutch 4-3-3. I was thinking about putting Jones in there but the guy's a destroyer. Id put him there over Hiddnik but i think he needs a two way midfielder for what he runs, its integral to his lineups. As are speedy flankers who put in a mean cross. As much as he wants centerbacks who can put the ball up top, he realizes he doesnt have that with the US and will bank on his center defenders to be strict to the book defenders, whom hopefully feed it up to bradley to provide any movement.
Re: If "x" was our coach, what would our formation look like?

Stu is the only pure attacking winger on the pitch and provides width, dolo the attacking wingback and both he and Holden would be providing crosses, Bornstein would play a more conservative fullback role. Bradley is box-to-box but has to do a lot of clean up work, Feilhaber is the facilitator. Donovan and Dempsey are the fulcrum of the attack and are the most important players on the pitch, while Jozy is there to clean up the mess in the box. He has to stay mobile and help keep the ball moving though.
