Also, if you listen to Rev Radio, there is more about how great Seattle has done off the field, but I would have liked Brad to contrast with what the Revs try to do or don't do at all.

Even the piece's from the Globe seem like there is not enough details - it grazes the surface but doesn't get into specifics.

Would have loved some comments about why the Revs still seat people on one side ofthe stadium.

The Revolution are pulling in an average of 14,952 fans this season and have sold just under 5,000 season tickets.
interesting.
1/3 of the fans are sth. wonder how that compares to other clubs. If I recall correctly this means we've added almost 1000 new sth's over the last 2 seasons.
so, the overall audience is shrinking, but the core supporters are getting stronger.
hmmmm.

This article should be titled 'Menino Needs Map, Duct Tape' and also needs a competent editor at the Globe...

Take away the Beckham game and the average attendance is much more sobering.

attendance goes down when teams struggle and theoretically goes up when they do well. the revs never seemed to get a boost from doing well, IMO because they never won the cup. but to me, the season ticket holder increase says that once the revs get out of the hospital and get their act together on the field, there might be an attendance boost this time - more season ticket holders means more people dragging their friends to games because "they're actually winning now!"

You may very well be right. I'd like to know how many of the new STHs this year were due to the drop in price of the Fort/GA tickets. And if they increase the price next year, how many will stick it out?

American Airlines today announced a three-year partnership with the New England Patriots and the New England Revolution

American Airlines today announced a three-year, integrated, marketing partnership with the New England Patriots of the National Football League and the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer.

The agreement establishes American as the Official Airline and the Official Sponsor of both teams and of Gillette Stadium. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"We have a long history of service in Boston, and we are thrilled to be working closely with the storied Patriots, the Revolution and their fans," said Charlie Schewe, American's Managing Director, Passenger Sales - Northeast Region.

American will activate this sponsorship opportunity through the teams' media properties, including TV and radio programming, out-of-home advertising, and in-stadium signage along with their online assets, which include Patriots.com and RevolutionSoccer.net. The airline also will conduct day-of-game promotions and work with the teams on community outreach.

A nice discount for season ticket holders would be awesome....but I'm not holding my breath!

Great news for the Revs regarding American Airlines. When I read the news I thought we final got a shirt sponsor but it doesn't seem to be the case. But regardless this is good.
