Default NFL '09-'10 Thread: "Super Bowl, homeboy!"

....in the words of the original Super Freak (who I still wish we had.)

It's that time again. Gonna pick up Madden 10 tomorrow, just to get my NFL groove on...although today kinda jump-started that for me and a few others around these parts.

I know women who go for that look.

P.S. Isn't he pretty much irrelevant by now, anyways?

I heard AM sports radio on the drive home last night. They were discussing Favre and they asked the listening audience for their opinion on him.

This guy phones in and clearly and slowly announces something to the effect:

"I hate this guy with his late season mental breakdowns. He is a RECKLESS MUTHA********A"

With their 7 second dump window, these dudes were speechless. Finally when the awkward few seconds passed, one of them finally said "I think we just missed our 7 seconds"...

I was rolling in my driver's seat. This was the funniest sports talk radio moment I've ever heard.

Why do people even care what Favre does ? He's well past his prime and now we have to watch as ESPN foams out the mouth over this.

That guy is right, the last few seasons he's started seasons really well, but then near the end, and particularly last season, he just ran out of gas and faded from his usual self. He's still a damn good quarterback and he can move around well for his age, a lot different than Marino and Testeverde when they got old. In a predominately run based offense with 2 great backs I think he might do well. He's got some receiving options as well and a strong defense. Good move by the Vikings, Rosenfels and Jackson suck.

The bad news is I heard the media say he has a tear in his rotator cuff and if he throws 40-50 passes it can inflame

Youd think that this was MJ coming back in '94 the way the media is hyping this up. The guy doesn't evn fit in with the Vikings who should be above most a running team. What's the point of bringing Favre in ? Guess the Vikings owner or whatever wants media attention or something.

Didn't they spend a first round pick on Jackson ? Wow that would be a smart move, throw your #1 pick down the drain in faor of a 40 year old QB. Ha.

Favre is a legend, so many great Playoff memories from him. Its weird seeing him in the Vikings uniform, probably Green Bay's 2nd biggest rival.

Its just a 1 year thing man, Jackson can learn a thing or two practicing and watching Favre. This is a smart move by the Vikings, their QB position has been shaky the last few years while they've improved a lot at other positions. Bringing in a guy like Favre, might pick up the level of the other players even more.

It might pick up their level or make them bitter over Favre missing training camp and being an attention whore.

There were talks of Jackson being released maybe with Fare coming in.
