Default Hell has frozen over. Ives calls for the firing of osorryo and agoof!

http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_b...mediately.html

"That purge should begin with two men, head coach Juan Carlos Osorio and technical director Jeff Agoos, the two men responsible for the construction of this abomination of a team."

"As much as some would like Osorio to be the fall guy, the sole person to blame for this disaster, he isn't. Jeff Agoos has worked hand in hand with Osorio and is just as culpable for the construction of a team that has manage just two wins all year. Agoos has held a front post for three years, after never having held one, and his on-the-job training has produced nothing of consequence. Sources suggest that Agoos tries to hang his hat on the acquisition of Juan Pablo Angel in 2007, but it's pretty common knowledge that Bruce Arena was the instrumental figure behind that deal".

Everyone really needs to go read this article.

Ives finally gets it. It took him a dogs age to get it but he finally does. No more sandwiches and cold red bovine for him in the press box next week. He's also burning some pretty big bridges with this. What is really going on behind the scenes?

Deadbull is 2-16-4 and the general manager takes a vacation in the middle of the season. Rofl just Rofl. Seems like his new hero is Governor Sanford of SC. You have to wonder if his trip was to Buenos Aires to "scout".

Discuss.

It's about time! But then, Ives is the guy who swore by Reyna, when everyone else could see that he was done. I guess when things are beyond redemption is when Ives can finally see things as they are.

Ives is spot-on. I wrote Red Bull today (fanservices@newyorkredbulls.com). I have no idea if my email will see the eyes of anybody that matters, but it felt good to vent. Here's the letter:

To whom it may concern:
I have been a MetroStars/Red Bulls fan for the past nine years. I can't afford season tickets, but I usually attend several matches a year and try to bring friends along. However, this year's team is absolutely pathetic. After the recent loss to W Connection, you can't convince me that A) this team is well coached, and B) the players haven't given up on the coach.
Simply put, the display I saw is NOT *professional* soccer, and I'm not paying to see any more of it. It's long since become apparent that several firings need to be made, starting with the coach who's signed expensive players who play poorly, who plays people out of position, who uses a formation that doesn't work in MLS. I'm not a soccer rube, and I can recognize lousy coaching when I see it. That Red Bull has failed to make any moves in this disaster of a season shows that they simply don't care about the fans, expecting money to begin rolling in once they open a new stadium. Well, guess what? There won't be much of a soccer environment if RBNY has run off all their fans.
I'm moving to Eastern Pennsylvania in two weeks, and I will be basically equidistant from Philadelphia and Harrison, NJ. Financially, I'm finally in a position where I can afford season tickets. I'd love to keep my allegiance to the team I've supported for almost a decade now, but given your utter disregard for the team's fans, I'll be supporting the Philadelphia Union instead. Next time please remember that while soccer is a business for you, it's an emotional investment for fans, and just like any relationship, when one party doesn't return the emotional investment, it's time to walk. Good luck next year, and I hope you'll learn from this experience.

Sincerely,
...

Frankly, I don't know how many members here have emailed RB to voice their discontent, but one blogger's rant isn't going to turn heads in the RBFO. They need to hear from the few remaining fans that we're not supporting this team until changes are made. RB's not going to pay attention until it affects their bottom line, and since they've written off this season, we have to convince them that we won't be at Red Bull Arena next year unless changes are made NOW. Maybe then RBFO still won't do anything, but I'm perfectly willing to call their bluff and switch allegiance. I'm not a fair-weather fan, but when team management basically says "f@#k you", it becomes a lot easier to shop around for a new team to support.

Wow.

I'm surprised simply in that Ives has bent over backwards, for so long, not to appear overly negative about RB and certainly not to place blame (however much deserved). Now, he jumps into the deep end feet first.

I wonder what exactly brought him to the tipping point, all of a sudden?

All that said, he's 100% correct (we knew that) in that entire piece. Well said.

This article is spot on and we can't hate on Ives just because he was giving the Red Bull organization the benefit of the doubt. Like all of us, we were giving this season some hope on representing well in the Concacaf Champions League. But after the choke-fest against W Connection, all hell broke loose. That was the last straw for the few remaining fans that were holding onto some hope that the Red Bulls would play for pride and make their fan base feel like they care. But that obviously has not happened. After that game, which I went with my dad, that we won't bother wasting our money on supporting such a badly run team. And the way things are going, Agoos and Osorio still employed, you can count on next season being another sub-par season with the only thing worth getting excited for is RBA.

Thumbs down Re: Hell has frozen over. Ives calls for the firing of osorryo and agoof!

I wonder if Ives gave Osorio his two weeks notice before quitting his job as his public relations man?

The whole year, the guy goes out of his way to use phrases like "guided the Red Bulls to last year's MLS Cup", "led the Red Bulls to MLS Cup, etc, whenever he had the opportunity in his blog and now all of a sudden in the middle of the week, he decides to write this crap article?

Being an objective "writer" is one thing, but he has lost credibility this year after being the guy Metro/Red Bull fans would turn to for so long for interesting team updates and opinions.

Apparently, instead of wearing a paper bag at the last game, Ives had it over his head the past 2 years.

Philly sell out!! I rather not have a traitor like you as a fan of my team anyways.

Man this was a so gratified surprise, reed Ives asking for the outer of Osorio and the Gus, maybe a little to late, but welcome back Ives....

I say little late, because we need a new coach for this couple of months reminding of the season, to evaluate the players we have and made the decision of who stay and who have to go and keeping Osorio until the end all that will be a lost of time and opportunity...

I too also had hope that we would at least get to the CL group stage. I keep thinking it can't get any worse but it manages to do so. At the beginning of the season I didn't think that we would make the playoffs this season but I did not expect this
