With No One To Guide Me I Can Only Ask Myself, What Would Pelligrini Do? - The Formations Thread III
The WWPD topic. As this may be the last formation thread, let's go into more detail than simply posting lineups. Lineups, formations, tactics the lot.

Formation: this is just my opinion
4-1-3-2, or 4-2-2-2
both of this have problems depending on who is playing
thats why Pelligrini has a hard time getting a definite formation
Line up: my opi XD
----------Casillas-------
S. Ramos--Pepe--Albiol--Arbeloa
-----------Lass--------
----Kaka---Xabi----C Ronaldo
-----Benzema--Higuain----
very offense, and defense is solid, the only problem is CR9 has no one to link up with in the back(i exept suggestions )
the Arbeloa position can be filled by Marcelo or Drenthe for added attack
Or
----same defense---
-----Xabi--Sneijder--
-Robben---Kaka----CR9
----Benz---Higuain---
I think this a better formation but not as defensive as the above one
but different formations can be used depending on the situation

It would suck in defense becouse there would be no goalie, or it would be the best formation ever becouse there would be 12 players.
I stil think that Xabi-Lass would be backbone of our team

Iker always can get in in second part if we want to play defensive football
Now seriuosly, I don't beleve that any formation with only Xabi as defensive midfielder would work. We need one of Diarras to help him defend.

So the Xabi-Lass combo is a must, Everyone in favor say "I"
the only problem is what do we do with Sneijder, el pirata, Kaka, Robben, CR9
Gago we must sell, Guti shouldnt be anywhere near the starting line up

Gago shuold (and will) stay and learn from Xabi. He can learn rally lot from him and that's opportunity he must grab.
This is my idea of rotating team (at least 2-3 players every weaker league game):
Xabi-Gago
Lass-M.Diarra
Kaka-El Pirata
Ronaldo-Robben
Sneijder for anyone expect Lass, doesn't matter
Pipita/Benzema-Raul
Guti-judge, in case we need some help, like Barca last year in CL.

keeping gago could be a problem, since i doubt he would like to play second or third fiddle to Xabi & lass, however i agree with u that he can learn alot from xabi, and the rotation is a must since the schedule of liga+copa+CL is brutal

I think he could get decent playing time, especially in cup and weaker league games
