Default Announcing the formations

Instead of quickly reading the names of our players while loud music is played in the speakers and the players are not even on the field, our dull PA announcer should do it like this:
FF to 1:10
Our PA announcer shows no passion, emotion or any desire to contribute to the atmosphere. When the PA announcer works with the crowd to announce the formations, it gets the spectators more involved, it strengthen the bond between the team and the fans, and it helps the people who first attend the game to learn the names of the players. For the first couple of games, probably only the Ultras, Casbah and 50% of the casual fans will shout the players' names, because the rest don't even know them, but that's how they learn, and that's how you build a tradition.

Totally agree...I always thought it would be cool for the announcer to say the first name and the fans yell the last name..."And in goal Joe.......CANNNNNON!"

I don't like the way the teams are introduced at the Quakes games now. Is this happening at all MLS games? It's the NHL style and it is not nearly as exciting as the on field introductions of the past. I totally agree that the player introductions should be an exciting preliminary to the game. The player introductions should be a very one sided procedure.....with the visitors being ignored to whatever extent possible.

I think so. Someone said it was required by the league but I don't remember who.

I've witnessed this in Germany. It's very cool. The last player announced, either the best or most popular usually gets his name announced and yelled 3 times. They did it for Podolski.

Would a new stadium lure him back? Any Spartacus sightings?

Hasn't Spartacus gone underground?
One of the things he was quoted as saying was that he would never announce soccer again. Was that due to his handling by AEG? I don't know.
