Default NRL on Setanta USA

I have noticed that the NRL is not on Setanta's two week schedule. Did they do away with this contract too like they did the AFL contract? If so, they does espn360 have any plans of picking it up? Thanks and sorry if this has already been talked about. I looked around but couldn't find it.

I assume this means no NRL on the FOX Sports Nets either. Ugh.

This won't have any effect on NRL coverage in the U.S.

Presumably, it's up for grabs. Spike had the 2009 playoffs, so perhaps they might be interested in a game of the week? Didn't Versus have World Cup coverage? Maybe they go for it?

Hopefully someone does. I'd settle for ESPN360, but would certainly prefer an actual TV channel.

Well the supposed NRL-US is claiming a "carnival" tour. I'm catching hell on other boards (mainly from the Jacksonville AMNRL owner) for some things I think they are doing wrong.

The mere fact they never update their website is just the tip of the iceberg. Dead givaway it's not serious.

Yeah, I hope Spike or Versus gets SuperLeague or NRL. If what I'm seeing is right, this FSC+ thing is bad news for rugby union in America, Setanta can't possibly survive with just rugby. Going premium in the U.S. was a big mistake.

FSC+ didn't kill Setanta, Setanta killed Setanta. FSC+ is just the response for what do we do with all this extra soccer content we have rights to now.

Plus, Setanta dumped the version of rugby I prefer, so to hell with them.

Yeah, I should have clarified. They locked the coffin on Setanta.

Setanta overestimated rugby's influence (in either code) in America. Should have tried to be on like FSC and GolTV and advertised NRL jersey shops and such. Premium doesn't work.

A few of us are trying to get any info on whether Spike or Versus might carry some League this year. God I hope so.
