Bassong bound for The Lane

We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Newcastle United for the transfer of Sebastien Bassong to the Club, following the player successfully completing a medical examination and agreeing personal terms.

Surely we need a new thread to welcome him...

Considering that both Ledley and Woody are getting a little long in the tooth and hurt, great signing. Bassong's young and the fact he looked at a minimum competent in a backline for a team that relegated says alot.

Welcome to the lane Sebastien

Though since he will miss the first two games because of suspension we'll need to bring in one more centre back I think.

I think we are sorted at the back now, plenty of quality there now! Ledley, Woody, Charlie, Daws and Bassong. Quality

Definitely worth his own thread - welcome Sebastien! If he did well at Newcastle he can surely prosper with us. We have to look past the first 2 games, he adds some important depth at CB.

If Bassong's registration is only transferred after the Newcastle game then he will be eligible for the Liverpool game. He only has one match on his suspension and it can be used up against Brom.

I believe his registration was yesterday...as the transfer was announced at the PLC if I'm not wrong.
