Marcelo Lippi Plans WC 2006 squad for WC 2010
I Hope To Win World Cup 2010 - Italy Coach Marcello Lippi
The coach feels experience may help lift the World Cup as he harbours hopes of another triumph...
Italy are getting ready to live the glory days of Germany 2006 once again by winning the World Cup in South Africa next year.
Coach Marcello Lippi has revealed he will be working towards lifting the famous trophy once again in 12 months' time as La Nazionale hope to equal Brazil's record five-trophy haul.
"I have the hope, and I underline hope, to try and win the World Cup again," Lippi told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"In order to play my cards right, I need a squad with plenty of experience on the international stage. Therefore I am relying on the group of 2006.
"However, there is always space for a player who can add value to the team. We have to use the word renewal with caution."
Critics claimed the Azzurri needed more youth rather than experience following the Confederations Cup shambles last month.

Not surprised. I wasn't expecting a total overhaul... it's too late for that.

lol What happened to "Youth with a little bit of expirience"?
Now he's changed completely to "Squad of 2006".
LOL what a joke, were going to win nothing in 2010.

You're right...you can't change the dynamic of a team within a year of a major tournament. You need to build the foundation from day 1...we're going to have to settle for the veterans again and then begin the new era July 2010 when the tourny is over. At least this gives me some hope to see Totti return to the Azzurri for the WC!!!!

He is joking right? so he's saying Iaquinta Toni Gila are locks because of experience. Wow, so i'm guessing were going to see the same players meaning the same style of play as confederations. After getting embarrassed by Brazil and Brazil kindly not running up the score on us, he is still delusional and cant see reality.

Nevermind the tshirts....I'm hoping for Calciopoli #2 hits and Inter lose their "titles" maybe that will motivate Italy again....and give Roma the title they deserve

No Italian plays for Inter though...what motivation will we get from that? How about we get Roma's debt evaluated and have them relegated since De Rossi and Aquilani, maybe even Brighi, will be motivated.

There's Santon and the "greatest player in the world" Balotelli who demands to be on the NT!!

ItalPetroli's debt, AS Roma breaks even and is debt free. They don't own anything, training grounds or their logos, but the got no debt.
