Parking at AC Milan Game
WTF - that was horrendous. If the Galaxy were trying to sell the team and the live soccer experience, they really f'd it up. I was stuck in a line for almost an hour before I lucked out and pulled into a street spot that a guy amazingly pulled out of right in front of me. If I had stayed in the parking line, I'd probably have missed the entire first half. Lucily my family bailed out and left me, so they got to see the introductions and kick-off. I pulled off the freeway at 6:15 - I thought I was early for god's sake!

Re: Parking at AC Milan Game
I thought parking went very well. I was only a few minutes ahead of you (got off 91 at around 6:05). Traffic on Avalon was much slower than usual, costing me an extra 10-15 minutes. Victoria was how it always was and I got right into Gate C and parked in the same lot I always do. Leaving was perfect - no wait to back out of my spot, quick out of the parking lot and was able to make the U-turn to head west on Victoria quicker than ever.
The only delays were caused by people who had never been to HDC before. They were always in the wrong lanes and trying to make lane changes they shouldn't have been making; this impeded traffic. But if you were a season ticket holder with a parking pass I suspect you got a fine experience.

OK, fine, if you have a season parking pass, maybe it would be OK! I tried for gate B, but they had just closed it down. Gate C was Season Passes only. From then on, it was a disaster.

Re: Parking at AC Milan Game
I usually get off the 91 on Central and turn into the parking lots from Victoria St., but we were meeting up with some people at Five Guys at the mall to eat first, so we didn't get on the road to the stadium until 6:20ish. The line to get into the stadium STARTED at the Carson Mall from the 405, it was horrendous. Thankfully, I have a Lot 12 parking pass, so we were more or less able to bypass the line and park right in front of the stadium. For the non-parking pass people coming from the 405, it looked like a real nightmare.

X-Games reduced the parking materially. Anyone who has been to a game when X-Games are in town would know what problems they were facing.
If this was your first experience at HDC, I am sorry you had an issue. But, I do think that it was atypical, and not what you would be facing for a regular league match.

Re: Parking at AC Milan Game
For STHers who park on 11 & 12 and use 405.
I avoid the Avalon lines by exiting the 405 on Main (next off ramp north of Avalon) and heading east.
Turn right onto Victoria, cross the intersection with Avalon and use entrance "c"

Re: Parking at AC Milan Game
According to my ticket rep this game has been sell-out for quite some time. How did people not know to come early? You also had to know that there would be an inordinate number of newbies/Eurosnobs/Milan fanboys who have never been to Carson before. Please don't ever think that AEG would actually be prepared to help on a night like this. (Hell, I couldn't even get a Spanish speaking concessionaire to get my order right in the stadium and I was ordering carne asada tacos!)
As usual I parked down by the Hampton Inn (for free) at 6:15 and walked the couple of blocks up to the HDC. Along the way I saw hundreds of cars waiting in long lines along Avalon and was thinking there is no way these folks will see kickoff.

Re: Parking at AC Milan Game
I will say that the Galaxy pretty much left people to fend for themselves. There was no one beyond the cash takers directing traffic. It lead to sad situations where there would be a line of 7-8 cars heading down into a dead end due to x-games construction and then all of them having to struggle to turn around.
Luckily we got there about 45 minutes early.

I must say, as my friend and I walked into the stadium last night we thought that it must have been a disaster for non-STHs.
Then we commented how we hoped everyone who showed up in an ACM or Italy jersey who would never otherwise 'lower themselves' to watch an MLS match had an absolutely miserable experience in the parking lot.

Re: Parking at AC Milan Game
Well when I came for the Real Madrid game a couple years back the whole parking was declared full. They told us to go to Sears, which is like 3 miles away, and walk back to the stadium. I ended up entering in the 35th minute...
