Marcia needs prayers now more than ever. If you have seen the latest update on her myspace page then you know it is quite serious. Please get the word out to anyone and everyone you know that believes in the power of prayer and then just pray for her and her family.

In part the update today reads
"She is currently sedated and hooked up to a ventilator and breathing tube."

OMG, get better....plleeeaaassseeee get better. i cant imagine what emotions must be going through their family right now, will be thinking/praying.

i thought a donor was found? was a bone marrow transplant performed? those operations are extremely intense, i have watched one and performed a couple on mice in my research experiences.

Last night Marcia was rushed to Intensive Care, after a severe coughing attack resulted in heavy bleeding in the lungs. The doctors believe this is an infection as a result of the chemo. She his currently sedated and hooked up to a ventilator and breathing tube. She is a lot more comfortable now, than the past few days have been with her severe cough. So she is resting gently and looks calm. But this infection is serious, and we will know more in the next few days after we see how it responds to the treatment. Never underestimate the power of prayer, Marcia needs u all more than ever. Keep u all posted as often as possible, Andy is flying in today, as the doctors seem to think the seriousness of the situation warrants him coming. Take Care.

wow, infection at this stage of bone marrow transplantation and chemotherapy can be extremely dangerous and even fatal. with a severely weakened immune system she is almost completely reliant on the doctors providing any defense against the infection. the doctors need to identify the type of infection and administer antibiotics/antivirals immediately. coughing to me suggests viral infection as most bacterial infections propagate in the gastrointestinal tract. viral infections often start in the lungs, move to the lymph nodes and blood stream. hopefully the doctors caught this before it got much further, infection in her lymph nodes and subsequently the blood stream would almost surely be fatal.

she is in a delicate stage right now, everyone needs to be praying for her.
