TSC Texans Midfielder Daniel Roberts will travel to England to train and tryout with Norwich City of the English Championship. Daniel played with the 88/89 TSC Texans who were State Champions last season. He was also a member of the 89’ Region III ODP team and also participated in the Houston Dynamo Academy for 6 months before going to play college soccer at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
He was born in England, but played HS and ODP ball in the U.S.
"I grew up over there, dreaming of one day playing for one of the professional teams. To be able to go train at Norwich City and see how I compare to players of the same age is exciting."

Roberts' soccer talents have not gone unnoticed by the Houston Dynamo organization. Currently, Roberts is on the Dynamo's protective list, which means that no other soccer club can sign him but the Dynamo. This is something Roberts seems to have no problems with.
What are the rules on playing for ODP -- do you have to be a US citizen to partcipate? Certainly he meets all the criteria for citizenship having grown up here.
I'm assuming he could apply to become a US citizen if he has lived here the required length of time. Isn't it 10 years? Then he would have dual citizenship.
While Houston are interested, i'm thinking since he can then he's going to exhaust all options in England/Europe before deciding on Houston/MLS, and he should.
