The writing/editing on there is laughable really. It's the same website that decided to include the fact that Gary Speed was found hanging in an article about the Gary Speed tribute match. The MSL typo didn't go unnoticed either.
Grayson, the manager who brought Rogers in, got sacked: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1016256/leeds-united-sack-manager-simon-grayson?cc=5901
IIRC, Leeds has a pretty extensive scouting network in the US and I'd willing to guess that had more to do with Rogers landing in Leeds than Grayson. Rogers did seal himself a deal via a trial but ultimately the head scout had initiated the interest. Grayson's sacking many not have any affect on Rogers moving forward. Rogers barely worked with Grayson and hasn't had tine to be one of Grayson's "boys".
The bookies in England have narrowed it down to a three horse race between Di Matteo, Bruce and Warnock.
Bruce and Warnock are just retreads. Those are managers who can never get a team over the "hump" -- i.e. will do just enough to please initially but ultimately have mundane results. Essentially, they will always find employment but fizzle out over time. At least with di Matteo you'd get a manager on the forefront of his career. Yeah his time at WBA was up and down but he may have honed his skills a bit taking a #2 position at Chelsea. If I were Leeds I'd take di Matteo, the younger route with a better upside. But they did that with Grayson so who knows what Bates will do.
Most Leeds fans seem to prefer Warnock given his record around getting promoted. Conversely they generally aren't keen on Di Matteo cause he's Chelsea (would be seen as a Bates yes-man) and there's already too been much Chelsea at the club. Warnock would at least stand up to Bates if it was in his interest.
Yorkshire evening post writer saying it won't be Di Matteo. Rumors swirling around Barnsley's Keith Hill, who I think would be a good hire, always seems to get the best out of his players against Leeds.
Yeah I guess, he'll probably get sacked when you guys do though, lol. You almost wish they would have made this move in the summer, this is a Big Sam job if I've ever seen one. He plays terrible football but he'd get you guys up and keep you up while you consolidate.
Neil Warnock is the only man for that job. The man is a promotion specialist. He got QPR from bottom of the Championship to the Premier League on a £3.5m spend. Put Warnock in and Leeds will be up there as favourites for 2012/13. Half the QPR side would be headed down there with him.
Yes it is. I'll close this one. Somebody, perhaps somebody named Woodrow, should feel free to start the new one.
