Re: Valdes, Puyol, Busquets, Xavi, Bojan... Oleguer... and Cesc?!

I've always found it odd that while Barcelona never has white (besides the San Jordi cross) on their kit, team Catalunya's color is white with the senyera.

    Argentina's predicted line-up is:

    ---------------------Pozo
    -Alvarez--Demichellis--Ottamendi--Papa
    ---Pastore---Bolatti---Gago---Di Maria
    ---------------Higuaín---Lavezzi

    But it's not certain.

From what I saw Catalonia's team has:

    Oleguer
    Puyol
    Xavi
    Busquets
    Pique
    Sergio Garcia
    Capdevila

starting. I didn't catch the other ones.

My Spanish sucks and I can't type fast enough to transcribe the chyron, which wasn't even onscreen long enough to read. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :p

Lavezzi just owned Captain Caveman down the left. Higuain's shot is tame.

Catalunya with most of the possession so far. :)

Valdes completely fouled Di Maria in the box. Ref screws it up.

Higuain passed to himself on the left around Puyol (shades of Henry in the CL2006 final) and Caveman hacks him down. Gets a yellow. Do these yellows count for anything outside this game?

Goal off Sergio Garcia's head. Bojan on the right crossed to Verdu on the left crossed it directly to the spot and Sergio thumps it in.

Good game by Catalunya. Pathetic game by the sub-par Argentina based players Maradona insists on calling up. I had to google the keeper's name since I had no clue who the hell he was.

    2010 Friendly v Honduras

On Monday the Catalan Federation announced that the annual holiday friendly will be played on Tuesday 28 December against Honduras at the Estadi Lluís Companys (Montjuïc).
A statement by the FCF noted that a deal to play Chile was nearly completed until the Chilean Federation had a change of president and the deal eventually fell through.
Holland was, once again, the first choice opponent (Cruyff connection) but the KNVB was not able to convince clubs to release their players outside the FIFA international date.
While teams like Brazil and Italy were outside the budget, others were unable for consideration due to players either being on winter break holiday (Germany, France, Switzerland, Serbia, Russia) or playing a complete league program during the holiday season (British Isles).

    Re: 2010 Friendly v Honduras

We (Honduras) will probably be sending a team with local players and some MLS talent. Hence an ass kicking is on the cards. This is because we are preparing for the UNCAF cup of nations (which is a Central American tournament for Gold Cup qualifying.)

I just cannot believe my national team will have played Xavi twice in one year. Makes my day.

little do you know that Xavi will be out for this game...

But I do expect a beat down. anything less than 4 goals against us, will be counted as a success :D
