Those were tune up games that really were not clear barometers of anything other than fitness level, some tactical tweaks, and competitive spirit. That is about it.
I don't think there is a huge gap in talent between the two countries but there is a gap... ...for now.
Things may change soon however as long as guys like Cabrera are here to nurture those type of talents.

Carlos deserves just as much time as anyone on that team. The coach brought Chavez and gave him all the playing time in the world.
