Big East Tournament 09 (r)
So the Big East does their tournament a little different, and earlier, than most other conferences.
The top two finishers in each conference get a bye to the second round (or QF if you prefer) and teams 3-6 in each division face off in the first round.
The first two rounds are held at the campus of the higher seed before the semis are played at a neutral site which this year is West Virginia.
Here's how it's played out so far and the remaining matchups, which have seen a few upsets.

Re: Big East Tournament 09 (r)
At halftime, South Florida leads Notre Dame 2-1 but the Bulls had a player sent off in the 43rd so that clearly gives Notre Dame an advantage in the second half. (I know, thanks Captain Obvious!)

Re: Big East Tournament 09 (r)
In the second half, ND took advantage of their extra man and outshot USF 10-3.
Unfortunately for the Irish, only one of those shots was on goal. Unfortunately for USF, the only shot on goal went in and it's 2-2 headed to OT.
U20 national teammates combined for the goal as Aaron Maund nods in a Dillon Powers corner.

Re: Big East Tournament 09 (r)
Game goes to PKs - after Notre Dame outshot USF 21-9 but could only put 4 shots on goal - and the Irish connected on all 5 of their PKs while the Bulls missed their fifth attempt.

Weird year.
I've seen just about all these teams more than once and not one of them, to me, seems to be a a final four caliber team.

Re: Big East Tournament 09 (r)
I saw all of Providence's home games and while there is decent quality in the Big East, and alot of parity, I'd be hesitant to think there is even a top 10 team in the league.
