Define Hardmen? In all honesty, when you first said the term, I had terrible thoughts in my head. Terrible thoughts...

They can do something similar with soccer. In the basketball scenes from that video, there was a part where those two guys lost their cool and started getting in each other's faces. Isn't that what street ball has turned into? An egotsitical driven game of man hood that's full of trash talk? Funny thing is, whenever I play futsal over here, the same kind of crap occurs. Sometimes the tempers boil over to a point where security has to get involved. I guess my point is they can portray futsal with the same testosterone driven intensity that you see in a game of pick up or street ball.

I'd rather they don't.
I can only speak about the commercials in Latin America, but they tend to highlight the emotion and beauty of the game, not so much its aggression and violence. I'm down with that. No need to be a knuckle-dragging moron.
Examples:
Quilmes (Argentinian beer)
Coke

Most (decent) football countries have hardmen. Like you said, they tend to be more brutes and less of players. Keane, Simeone, Gentile, Gattuso, etc. may have been good players but weren´t known for their technique.

Somebody who was known as a very hard tackler and ball-winner, but who did have technique, was Johan Neeskens.

Real hardmen have both. Look at Lassana Diarra, Mascherano, Redondo, Senna, Aurelio, Gilberto etc.
