Born in Mexico with a Mexican mother and a brother that plays with Mexico. While I'll never claim to be able to read minds or act like I know someone I have never met, but blood trumps all things, especially for Mexicans. A little bro grows up emulating his bigger bro, for the most part, and they probably both dreamed of growing up and playing for Mexico together. What ties does he have with Spain other than he has been living there for a while?? His father is not even Spanish... I don't see him chosing Spain.

But i have seen stanger things happen by far.

He's not supid. If he gets minutes with the first team he would most likely get called up to the National team. Jona will be a starter with us as soon as he's ready. Spain in the other hand not so much. He's got Cesc, Xavi, Iniesta ect.

Well I see some of you are using Giovani as someone that can persuade but just look at Julian de Guzman and his brother Jonathan de Guzmán. One plays for Canada and one plays for the Netherlands.

Yeah, but Canada sucks balls and maybe Julian might actually change back to Canada.
