Go to your nearest GS25 and buy:
1 bottle of 처음처럼 since that's the strongest soju you can buy in Seoul now.
1 bottle of the blue 2 Liter Powerade bottle.
2 bottles of E5 (이오) Yogurt
And then:
1. Drink the powerade until you hit where the bottle dents in.
2. Pour in the two bottles of E5
3. Pour in the bottle of soju
The mixed liquid will fill up the 2L bottle entirely and will be a greenish color.

I just tried this (with a cooler instead of yogurt) and it tastes yucky. You ruined my good soju asshole.

Re: Types of Soju
i prefer makgulli myself like a lot of people here... once i saw my dad pour makgulli in a pot and started heating it. I said, "what are you doing?" And he said that it tastes better this way. He also added a lot of suger to it.
Anyway, hot sweet makgulli was awsome. it was like drinking liquid 술떡. Is that a common way to drink makgulli in Korea?

Re: Types of Soju
Did it actually taste better or did it just go down your throat better? 막걸리s are usually eaten warm to begin with, no?
I have never tried it but I presume it might have been initially done for medicinal purposes. In Korea, anything heated = good for your health.
I have noticed that they do cook 떡/bread with 막걸리 in it though.

Re: Types of Soju
I didn't know that Makgulli is normally drunk warm. Is that true? It certainly tasted really good. Maybe it's because all the ethanol got evaported when my dad brought makgulli to a boil, but it was very tasty.
In Chinatown, I saw that the chinese also have their version of sool-dduk. But although it has the same texture as the sool-dduk that we all love, it lacks that nice sour makgulli flavor...
The most memorable Makgulli I ever had was when I was five. My family went hiking or visiting some monastary on some mountain. In the middle of the mountain trail, there was this place that sold famous dotori-mook. I love dotori-mook, so my parents bought some---except it was extremely spicy especially for a five year old. My parents asked for some water for me, but somehow, they ran out and only thing they had was makgulli. So at age five, I remember getting drunk and sleeping on my dad's back. That event has made me a Makgulli-man for life.
Makgulli is the national drink of Korea. Unfortunately I hear, that this brew is disappearing in the northern half of the peninsula.
