CCL semi-final and final question
Hi.
Is there any official word on which order the semi-finals and final matches will be played, in terms of who gets their home leg played first - will it be a random allocation, or is it one based on the various performances of the teams which will get out of the quarter-final rounds?

Re: CCL semi-final and final question
Thanks.
Hmm... looks like if Montréal get through, they would have their first leg at home (hopefully at the big O again) - and if they made it to the final, they'd host the championship match!
A lot of ifs in that, of course, but I'd bet a packed Olympic Stadium would make a great site for the trophy presentation... well, perhaps not so much if the visitors won in the end, though.

Could you imagine that. If they put in temporary field-level seating it might push the East Germany-Poland Gold Medal Game from '76 for the attendance record at the Big 'O'.

They'd have to do a lot more than temp field level seating for that Trev. As this picture shows, a large grandstand was set up at the tower/scoreboard end to get seating numbers up to just under seventy thousand for last year's Grey Cup Final.
There was a plastic tarp there for last week's match.
According to this article http://www.canada.com/sports/makes+a...597/story.html about the 2010 Cup Final, temporary seating as seen below costs $50 to $60 per seat which probably makes it a bit too costly for an event where the Impact would want to keep the prices down.
BTW, in 1977 the Grey Cup Final attracted 68,318 to the Big O.
Obviously it could be done depending on whether or not Joey wants to spend the money or not although, even with those extra seats, the stadium record of the East Germany - Poland Gold Medal match from 1976 of seventy-two thousand would be very difficult to reach due to the many stadium alterations made over the past 33 years.
It would be nice though.

The final is also a two-leg affair.

Re: CCL semi-final and final question
Indeed - but Montréal would host the second leg, and thus be the site where the championship would ultimately be decided...
...and where the trophy would be presented.
