Thought it would interesting to have each poster name their own AA teams. You can have as many as you want (1st team, 2nd team, etc...), just limit it to D-I players and try and go with one GK and 10 field players but any formation you want. You can use any criteria you want. You can go with the NSCAA method and look for some geographical balance. You can go with the Soccer America style and put a big emphasis on how teams did in the post-season. Your team, your call. I was surprised by how much actual thought I put into this and the more thought I put into it, the harder it got. How can you have Cody Arnoux, the leading goal scorer for the #1 team in the country and the team leader in points, on the second team?
Oh believe me I agonized over that one. All in all it came down to a coin toss and since he was an underclassman i put him on the second team.
Thanks for the compliment Sandon. I have to pay the compliment right back at you. Clearly your picks are every bit as good as mine. In this case I kinda think it's a case where great minds tend to think alike...
Because I think he benefits from being surrounded by so much talent and with defenses keying on the other players, especially Bone and Tracy, it opens up a lot of room for Arnoux. That isn't to suggest Arnoux isn't a very good college player. He is. But I think he benefits from Tracy more than Tracy benefits from him. There was also the idea of spreading out the AA teams a little and I was hard pressed - though tempted - to have 4 of the 11 from one team, even a team as dominant as Wake. And, even though Arnoux has better stats, no way am I putting Arnoux ahead of Tracy. Especially because Tracy was so dominant the first half of the season (10 goals and 6 assists through 12 games). He hit a lull in the middle of the season - 1 goal and 1 assist the last 6 games of the regular season and the first ACC tourney game - but has turned it on since in the games that matter, with 2 goals and 3 assists the past 4 games. So, with Tracy on the first team, that left 2 spots, Zakuani was a lock since he led the nation in scoring while playing a very tough schedule. So it came down to DeMartin and he put up his numbers in fewer games plus he got far less help than Arnoux did and basically carried Michigan State to a Big Ten double and a No. 4 seed. As I said, there were some tough calls and leaving Arnoux off the first team was one of them. But, I think on merit the three that got it deserved it. Finally, if you disagree name your own damn team. Rather than criticize mine - I mean, mine and Tom's - show us who you think should be on an AA team.

Should have known someone would have started a thread on him already. Looks like he had a pretty good season. I wonder if this will cause a spike in Star Kick sales?
