Re: Landon Donovan: EPL or La Liga
It was bush league how Nicol didn't start him last night. That really pissed me off. Kenny Cooper was embarrassingly bad last night, you really think LD couldn't have gotten the nod over him? Landon earned the right to be in the starting lineup, he got all those votes, there is no reason not to start him unless he's injured or something. He is the best player in the MLS and is leading the league in goals, to not start him was a jackass move.

Re: Landon Donovan: EPL or La Liga
Wherever he gets PT. He can be successful in either league but I hope his priority is getting minutes.

Re: Landon Donovan: EPL or La Liga
Donovan and Beckham both had good chances to take shots at the net BUT they chose to pass instead! That's what sucks! You're looking for your star players to be assertive and take shots but they just make a pass when they have a chance at the goal!
When Donovan is at his best he can play anywhere. BUT don't you all see that if Donovan leaves this team is DOOMED!! Beckham can't score on his own but he needs stars around him. Look how poorly Beckham and the team did in that game when Donovan didn't play. Beckham didn't get the chances he normally gets.
Unfortunately, Beckham usually seems to do well only when he has good players he can set up. He's not a Zidane or Ronaldo who can make magical moves and score on their own even if they don't have the best players around them.
This team will likely collapse without the best player in MLS, Landon Donovan.

Re: Landon Donovan: EPL or La Liga
There are times Landon plays at a level entirely above most of his MLS counterparts. Unfortunately, he also disappears faster than a Clinton cigar. I think he'd make an effective sub in England or Italy but I doubt he'd find significant playing time.
By the way, while watching Christine (a Stephen King classic) last weekend I realized "Arnie" and Landon bear an uncanny resemblance. Is it just me?

Interesting question, while he's appears to have the pace to play in the EPL I think he's too slight to really be effective there. I don't think he would stand up too well to the physical play in the EPL. Spain or Italy would probably suit him better. But as others have said anywhere he goes (if he goes) he'll need to work to get his spot as he won't get the automatic starts like he does here. It would be interesting to see how a LD handles that.

Not really. I think he is a better fit at a Eredivisie side say PSV, Ajax or in the French league. He can adjust to Europe, then if he tears it up move to a better league.
