Default The Morning Cup 11/5/07

The word of the weekend was...draw.

From London to Turin, honors even was the overriding theme to the past few days in Europe's marquee matches. The last-gasp 2-2 draw the Emirates saw Arsenal's central defensive duo step up to the level of United's pair, while others have concentrated on why Sir Alex's investment in Anderson is starting to show some nice dividends.

I don't agree with David Pleat's view that Ryan Giggs provided the coal for United's engine.

Another axe falls in the Premier League.

As for the derby D'Italia, Mauro Camoranesi's tying goal gave Juventus at least of breath of hope in keeping pace with Inter. It wasn't do or die, this one; Juventus is only four points behind in fourth while Roma's three behind. Inter has the best talent and depth in Serie A at this point; doesn't mean you'll win it in the end.

While Madrid stumbled, Barca and Villarreal gained ground in La Liga.
