Turning them into apartments. The South Stand I believe just started taking buyers this month. the pitch will be a garden of walkways, fountains, and other plants native to the area. The "stadium" will have 700 apartments.
I must say, that is a nice stadium. It looks quite neat and does have character and a nice shade of green. I don't know anything about the team that plays there though so I hope they will do it justice.
Molde Stadion. Also called rökkelökka: Some background information: Molde is a small city, or should I say village, in Norway. The club, Molde FK, nearly regelated this year and had to play qualificationmatches against Moss to survive in the Norwegian league; Tippeligaen. The stadium, which is called Rökkelökka, was payed by a fan of the team named Kjell Inge Rökke. You'll have to excuse my bad english.
https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5968007&postcount=2 I mentioned Molde on the second post of this thread.
If I was Molde, I might have had a horseshoe shaped ground, because the only thing better than that stadium is the view!
Morrison Stadium Omaha, Nebraska, USA http://admissions.creighton.edu/sharedmedia/images/SoccerStadium291X127.jpg Saw a game here last Fall. One of the nicest venues I've seen, although pretty small (5-7K). Too bad they have to use Field Turf.
One of the German "cult classics", 1. FC Union Berlin's Stadion Alte der Forsterei Not pretty, but its a great stadium IMO. Capacity 18250
The Viking Stadion for Viking Stavanger has a decent view too, like Molde's stadion: Stadiums not bad to boot. Capacity 15300
The picture they supply would suggest otherwise.... Like this thread a lot, and that world stadiums website is great, so what if a few creep over the 20,000 mark? The one in La Linea says it is spot on, on 20,000:- Yep, that's the UK in the background. And the new KC Stadium is 5,000 over the top:- http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadiu...m/england/yorkshire_humber/hull_kingston1.jpg Anyone been there? I had a bit of a soft spot for Boothferry Park. Blundell Park is not great, but its next to the sea, and I saw Ade Akinbiyi score a last minute equaliser there once:-
http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_menu/past_future/pictures/future_stadiums/oslo_fornebu.shtml The Fornebu Arena in Oslo is to seat 15,000 but is retractable roof.
http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/middle_east/qatar/doha_hamad.shtml Al-Sadd's Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar. Seats 15,000.
This is awaiting a green light from the city of Vancouver. http://www.whitecapsnewstadium.com/data/upload/renderings_soccer.jpg Whitecaps Waterfront Stadium Capacity: 15,000 Vancouver, Canada
This is the stadium that Bosnia plays their home games at. In something like 12 or 13 games so far, they have stayed undefeated.. This is the favorite stadium in Bosnia obviously not because of its size, but the unbelievable atmosphere. The Spanish players after their 1-1 draw with Bosnia on this very stadium said something along the lines "we have never felt such electricity in a stadium, it will be almost impossible for anyone to take any points away from this place." The fans are also known to start cheering in front of the hotel of the visiting team as soon as the other team arrives.. It gets loud, and stays loud.. for days.
São Januário Stadium (Vasco da Gama Stadium) The capacity for Brazilian Serie A is lowered to 19990 seats.
No artificial grass is used. Different types of grass are often mixed to create a more durable surface but the Nou Camp (or any other top tier European team) definately don't have any fake turf.
