    Really?

I bet if you look at most leagues around the world, you will find a bunch of players making lots of money (relative) sitting on the bench compared to those playing.

Bad deals and bad signatures do happen.

Even Barcelona and Man U make bad investments (they just make so many good ones that people forget the bad ones).

    * Top 20 players for the CAP number

One thing to say about Academy players, both of them are guaranteed more money than Grazzini, neither has played a single minute for the FIRE first team.

So how important is investing in academies really?

I included Bone in my CAP number, but I am still not sure if he is still Addidas player or not.

Bone and Johnson are currently Gen Adidas. I anticipate Johnson will lose his status this winter.

The thing about signing academy players is, you have to sign them before someone else does. They are protected from other MLS teams, but they may be signed by other leagues. It seems reasonable that you'd want to lock somebody up even if they're not ready for the 1st team yet.

I am surprised that Gulley is getting paid when he isn't on the roster. I kind of thought he was "completing his residency" this season and his contract would start paying him next season.

Whoever is negotiating for Grazzini and Rosales needs to get fired. I can't believe two of the better creative mids in the league are making league minimum. Do they really think MLS is that cash poor in Argentina? Haha.

If that's the case, we need to make it rain down in Buenos Aires, cut the dead weight from this roster and get 4-5 other players on Grazzini's level.

I sorta buy it, inflation in Argentina is in real terms about 20% each year! They also have a hard time making payroll as it is. Taxes are also outrageous since they assume everyone is cheating and underreporting anyway.
