Below are the Philly Bus Trip plans. There have been a few changes/answers/etc. The updates are at top, but you might want to read it all again just in case.

    UPDATES:

    1. If you are driving down, there will be a special part of Lot B just for NYRB fans. You should ask to park in this part when you get to Lot B.

    2. There will be security staff in both bathrooms. We asked a woman if this means there’s a woman in the women's room, and all she said was “There will be security” so, we take it that means women security personnel in the bathroom, but, you know what they say about assuming.

    3. Remember too that there will be cops, stadium security, undercover cops and probably even the mayor of Philadelphia in our section watching us. Again, there is a ZERO tolerance policy for anything. So, don’t be a hero out there. We likely won’t be able to “fix” anything if something goes south, so, do try to keep your nose clean.

    4. We got a map of the stadium & parking lots. We’re not going to link it to the e-mail, but copy/paste (http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4110/5083038424_40b2c7b5ca_b.jpg or go to empiresupportersclub.com and look for the story on the home page, it’s linked there as well).

    5. There will be two 49 seat buses. Both will pick up in New York. Both will drive to Jersey (MetroPark). Both will go to Philly. Both will go back to Jersey. Both will go back to NY.

    6. As it looks (we were told it was a pair of 55 seat buses, but it’s really a pair of 49s), we are oversold by about 8 seats. We are going to have a van meet us in Jersey and if we completely fill up, some extra people will need to volunteer to on the van, as we may not have enough space to put everyone on the buses if everyone shows up. Sorry about that, but, it wasn’t our mix-up.

    7. In case you were wondering, we don’t have any extra seats on the bus (obvs.) and we don’t have any extra tickets for the game. Per Philly’s FO, the game is sold out.

New York Red Bull Supporter’s Timeline/Information
    Saturday, October 16th – PPL Park – 6:00PM

Here is the Bus Trip Itinerary:

1:30pm pick up Manhattan – 31st and 8th. The bus LEAVES at 1:30, you should be on it with your food, drinks & sh!t by 1:20.
2:00pm pick up MetroPark- MetroPark train station, Iselin, NJ, just off exit 131(or 131B) of the Garden State Parkway.
4:00pm arrive Chester (probably a bit before that, but, still)
5:00pm March-into stadium from “Boat Slip Lot” at PPL Park
    6:00 pm Game
    8:30 pm leave
    10:00 pm arrive MetroPark
    10:30 pm arrive New York

First note about bus departure times: the time listed is when the bus PULLS OUT OF THE LOT, it is NOT the time you should show up to get on the bus. We are on a tight schedule and can’t wait for people who show up late, so if you aren’t on the bus at that time, you will get left. Especially for the NYC people, please don’t show up at 1:25 and then “run to get a sandwich & something to drink”. Get your sandwich early and plan to be on the bus by 1:20. There is no food on this trip as they are not allowing us to cook in Philly, so bring food for yourself on the way down & back. Don’t count on being able to get out of the section in Philly for food, don’t expect to be able to get food in Philly.

About the lots in Philly: We were told that the buses will park in the Boat Slip Lot, and that the cars driving down will park in Lot B. Per Philly FO, there will be a special part of the Lot B parking lot set aside for NY supporters. This is what we were told.

Boat Slip Lot- You will not be allowed to drink alcohol in this lot. (You can drink sitting on the bus). There will be port-a-potties, but little else. No coolers are allowed. No grills are allowed. Bottles of water & soda can be drunk, but no tailgating will be allowed in the normal sense. You’ll be allowed to stand there and wait, surrounded by security, and that’s about it. We plan to get there around 4 and go into the stadium at 5pm. So, you’ll have a chance to stretch your legs, but that’s about it. If you are looking for the lot, it is on Flower St. & Seaport Drive.

Lot B- This is where it gets really crazy. We were told that if you are driving, you can park in Lot B only, in the section reserved for NYRB supporters. After parking, you are not allowed to be in this lot, at all, wearing Red Bulls colors. Police & stadium security will be walking through this lot and you can either sit in your car and hide, or you can show up, park, and walk directly out of the lot to the Boat Slip Lot. Might not be a bad idea to bring a neutral color sweatshirt to throw over your shirt if you are wearing one for entrance/exit to the stadium to get to/from Lot B. Other (Philly) fans will be in Lot B too, which is the reason why you can’t loiter there.

We’ll be using the River Gate to get into/out of the stadium. If you are driving, walk over to the Boat Slip Lot and look for us. Hopefully we’ll be there by 4/4:15pm.

Note: Philly isn’t in the playoffs (ahem), so Saturday’s game is the last one in the stadium for the year. They’ll be doing a fireworks celebration after the game. All Philly fans will be staying in their seats for 30 minutes to watch the show, we will be marching right-the-********-out-of-the-stadium when the final whistle blows. So, know that.

PROHIBITED ITEMS – Alcohol, animals (except service animals), bottles, cans, beverage containers of any kind, food, coolers, fireworks, smoke bombs, firearms, weapons of any kind, laser pointers, missile/projectile like objects, streamers, noisemaking devices, whistles, air horns, video cameras, camera lenses in excess of 8 inches, Frisbee, balloons, beach balls, umbrellas, strollers (in seating area). Bullhorn can be used only if it has no sirens on it, etc. Flags or banners on poles, drums, drum sticks and musical instruments are prohibited unless authorized in advance by Stadium Management

    BAG CHECK POLICY
    – Searches may be required at all entrances. Please leave all unnecessary items in your vehicle or at home. Have bags and coats open for search as you approach the entrances. Bags larger than 12” x 12” x 12” are not permitted and will not be held by staff during the event.

ABSOLUTELY NO INCENDIARY DEVICES ARE ALLOWED. This includes Fireworks, Flares, Smoke Bombs, etc…

Banners, Flags and Drums: MUST BE PRESENTED FOR INSPECTION AT THE RIVER GATE AT 3:00PM. ANY ITEM NOT PRESENTED AT THIS TIME WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN THE STADIUM – NO EXCEPTIONS. Inspection time is at 3pm.

Banners can only be held, as there is no place to hang them in front of the section

There will be security in the Stadium on three sides of our section including cops & CSC security, plain clothes cops, security in the bathroom. One supporter spent 6 weeks in Jail, so please know that they are not there to mess around. This is the largest NYRB trip in 4 years, so please keep in mind that there are 300+ other people on the trip as well. Be safe, be chill. If something happens to you, please find your bus captains to have security take care of it, don’t finish it yourself.

If you have any questions, please send them to empiresc@verizon.net or empiresupportersclub@gmail.com so that we can get back to you.

I might have 1 or 2 tickets for tomorrow's game (section 114). PM me if you are interested.

At this moment I am not 100% sure of either ticket's availability, but If I was a gamblin' man I would say I will almost certainly have one, and quite likely have two.

A few friends who committed to this road trip months ago seem to have gotten cold feet.

Were you even there? Someone threw a few munchkins down, which people caught. Nobody complained about the dollar bills that were thrown down as well. Don't ever go to the Azteca!

I can personally verify having had Philly fans throw beers down into section 104 during their league game at RBA this year. I specifically saw some red-headed doofus who then gave everyone the finger before likely being ejected.

Believe they snuck flares into the stadium, damaged seats with said flares, started fights as they were being escorted out and then started alot of trouble while in jail.

it wasn't 6 weeks for what they did IN the stadium, it was 6 weeks because of what they did from when handcuffs got put on.

so we're Red Bull fans, aren't members of any supporters section, going to the game, and won't be able to wear our RB gear in the parking lot? That's just messed up??

(and yes, I went to the DC game and have seen what can happen)

i'm not worried about my own well being. I'm worried what those classless cheesesteak-eaters will do to my car.

But the report says RB fans will have their own section in Lot B. does that mean there will be security there?

i actually live about the same distance (maybe a bit closer) to ppl park as i do to RBA, so it wouldn't make much sense for me to drive to NYC or metropark just to get on a bus that would drive me in the other direction.

Yes but as soon as you park you have to join the other RB fans in the Boat Slip lot. So if anyone is driving your car is a huge (explicative) target as far as I am concerned. Well done Philly FO.

that's what i was thinking. they make all of us park in 1 area, so all of the douchebags who want to vandalize our shit after we rock them in their own house know exactly where to go.

i really hope they have some security in the lot.

everything went fine, but they really had theirs heads up their asses when they came up with our parking situation. before the game was no problem. walk from the lot behind the stadium along the river, meet up with ESC, go in the gate right there. after the game, though was f'ing retarted. we came out and they wouldn't let us walk behind the stadium to our cars. we had to walk 3/4 of the way around the stadium. very annoying. i was out of the stadium pretty quick, but by the time i walked all the way around the stadium, a crap load of philly fans had gotten to their cars (even after watching the fireworks) and it took forever to get out of the lot.

Unfortunately it takes forever to get out every game not just the sellouts. Hopefully when the commodore ramps are finished it will be a smoother experience.

I really wish there wasn't 2 incidents of fans getting thrown out (1 RB fan and 1 union fan). I thought the precautions they made about tailgating was a little over the top. (no food or booze gtfo). I hope next year they relax that stance at least because I thought it was pretty draconian.

    http://www.philly.com/inquirer/breaking/sports_breaking/20101016_Union_contains_Red_Bulls.html

"They had their own concession stands, their own restrooms, their own smoking area.

"These fans hate each other," noted one Union security guard, who helped successfully keep the Red Bulls' fans confined and Union fans at bay.

It was fan appreciation night at PPL Park - Union fan appreciation night. The organization wasn't going to let the final home game of its inaugural season be spoiled by any Red Bull hooligans.

The game was the first time that the Union implemented the strategy, which is virtually unprecedented in Philadelphia professional sports.

So security certainly did its part to contain the visitors. The home team didn't do too badly, either.

I had a good time. All the shit-talking seemed generally good natured, and it was kind of fun being the heels of the section we were sitting in when we cheered for the Red Bulls. The little kids around us especially seemed to enjoy hating us.

the point is, i was out pretty quickly and would have been to my car and out of the lot before most people were leaving the stadium, but those jackasses made me walk literally all the way around the stadium to get to my car. by the time i got there the majority of the crowd were out of the stadium and crowding the lot. i expected it to take a while getting out, but it wouldn't have taken nearly as long if they had let me walk straight to the lot using the most direct route.
