Same old carbon dioxide stuff. It's funny, that picture is up on the LARS board. Are your boards too boring?

    EastLAChivas,

What's up bro, long time. We had gold kits before Becky came;)

More teams should really start getting away from the unimaginative, boring, lame white away kits. There is a lack in identity when more than half the league wear the same away colors.

Technically teams have secondary jerseys and not away jerseys. The league allows teams to wear their primary color as much as possible to foster that identity. Here is the breakdown of "away" jersey colors though.

    White secondary (7):

    New England
    DC
    Chicago
    KC
    SJ
    RSL
    Houston

    Blue secondary (6):

    NY (blue)
    FCD (blue hoops)
    Colorado (light blue)
    Galaxy (blue)
    Seattle (blue)
    Chivas (blue)

    Other secondary (2):

    Columbus (black)
    Toronto (gray)

Most teams use either blue or white as their secondary color so I can see your issue with how teams seem to have the same color when they are wearing their secondary jersey.

People would probably care less about white alternate jerseys if the shorts and/or socks weren't also white.

hahaha and when we get into the league we will have blue away kits:D though it would be nice it the club did a throw back kit to the 86ers which was yellow.

I think Seattle, and from what I am hearing, Philly, are showing MLS trending away from the white change kit as their change kits are the reverse of their home.

Yes, no more white or blue secondary/away uniforms.

RSL, for example, should swith to a yellow secondary uniform in place of that very bland white uniform they wear.

I have in mind something that looks a bit like the old liverpool away kit.

The last time Columbus had a white jersey was in 1999 (even then it was half yellow):

and the last time they had something besides yellow or black was 2002:

The white and yellow was hideous, but I rather liked the charcoal jerseys. Not too many teams in world soccer wear charcoal.

Two of the clubs with the "blue" secondary shirts have white as their primary. So that means nine of the current 15 clubs have white shirts as either primary or secondary...and not only the shirts, but usually the entire kit tends to be boring white.

All white is boring, but remember that, as the Galaxy prove, all white is a good way to POSE as a legit club.:D

It's as if if you wear white you are a real football club or something like that.

Soccer uniforms are kinda boring in traditional soccer countries, perhaps because when clubs chose their colors it was ultraconservative early 20th Century. You have leagues where 90% of the teams have either red, blue, or white.

Even the token purple team chose the color because of a laundry accident.:p

Before Houston and Seattle, MLS had really BORING unis.

I hope they don't. I hate shirts with collars. They're playing soccer not going to church.

And for the Quakes the obvious want is the return of blue, which was hinted to be happening at last year's EOY party. So we should be seeing a blue jersey making a come back for the blue team.

Don't know that it would be a radical departure. Our current shorts are black, and our current jersey is about 1/4 blue and 3/4 black. If they swapped the proportions of black and blue it wouldn't be radical as the colors would not have changed, just how much of them is there.

It's actually because these colours were cheap and easy to make and were therefore ubiquitous...if you can buy 20 red shirts on the pound as compared to 10 green shirts, why wouldnt you?

As well as swapping the black and the blue on the current home socks.

Well Socks aren't really part of the kit and are easy to acquire in almost any color.

Actually, socks are part of the kit and hopefully the relative ease of acquiring them doesn't make the Earthquakes forget to acquire them in the first place. ;)

I doubt they will forget. But the first priority is the jersey. That's the main thing that needs changing as that's what not only the players wear, but the fans as well.

Why would there be a delay between changing both?

If they decide to go Blue-Black-Black maybe? Honestly I wouldn't be as upset about that as socks aren't all that important to me personally.
