Who wants to bet we beat DC on Saturday and we all leave the stadium scratching our heads and the constantly changing face of this team? One minute we're beating Houston the next we're losing to Red Bull. Wonder if Avi will finally see some time (yeah right ).

Please note the 7:00 pm start time. Come out and support the team, if anything just to enjoy the last few home games before the winter.

I have a feeling the attendance is going to be worse than usual with fans (myself included) choosing to watch the USMNT at the same time.

The best I can see happening is FCD blows farts and loses.

"And that's the best you can see happening," you ask?

Between the USMNT and the first day of college football, attendance will be, uh, bad.

I'm going to this game with the following focus:
    entertainment value

    -o- w00t! Temps will be below 95
    -o- holiday weekend!
-o- the lines will be short for the Happy Hour drinks before the game
-o- good to see the supporters group out making noise and creating some atmosphere!
-o- wonder what the new line-up will look like
-o- will Dario Sala get another clean sheet
-o- how will the crowd react to Ricchetti's new hircut
-o- will adding Ugo bring in some new local fans that knew him back when
-o- how does the field look
-o- who will be the Dallas MVP of the match

I'm hoping this new attitude and focus will allow me to more fully enjoy the entertainment value of my team - you know, just being a part of the FCD experience without laying all these expectations of winning as the way I get value. Of course, winning would be supercalifragilisticexpialidociously awesome! :D

    Si se puede!

I think FCD wins this one 2-0. After a terrible loss on the road (Salt Lake), they took it out on Kansas City at home. Shout out to the Cauldron, who jept cheering and waving flags for all 90 minutes. Terrible loss on the road to Red Star, and now a staggering team comes to PHP. FCD is set for the win.

In the middle of the Red Star game (we watched it Monday night, after a weekend trip to the beach), Divia asked me if I wanted to renew our heavy stakes bet on DCU FCD. I agreed immediatley. Of course, she has already collected for the season. Around 10:00, I think she will be quite disappointed.

    COME ON, YOU TOROS!

Here's my quick prediction. I haven't been paying too much attention to the team lately, so some players might be a bit out of position....
    Cooper -- Ruiz
    Alvarez - Toja - O'Brien
    -Valakari -
    Gbandi - Moor - Davino - Serioux
    - Hislop -

$1 dogs and $1 burgers at least :)

Gates open 90 minutes before kickoff. Be sure to get to Pizza Hut Park early for the FC Dallas pre-game Happy Hour, featuring $1 burgers, $1 beers and $3 margaritas from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

You're on the right track. This lineup might require a bit of creativity by the FO, but I would pay to see it.

    F-Don Draper
Very crafty and can score at will

    F-Simo Hayha
    Great long range shot

    CAM-Charles Ponzi
Has there ever been a better schemer? Being pushed by up-and comer Bernie Madoff

    LM-Lefty
Well known for doing what he has to do

    RM-Pancho
Provides counterbalance to Draper and Ponzi in attack, as he wore his gun outside his pants for all the honest world to feel

    DM-USS Stockdale
Powerful modern destroyer. Also committed to navigating through gridlock

    LB-Kirk Cameron
Extensive experience with a "left back" role

    LCD-Lawrence Taylor
    Greatest defensive footballer in history

    RCD-Shaquille O'Neal
Excellent on set-pieces and in the air. Shaq Fu technique includes strong defense

    RB-Eric Dickerson
Quick and crafty back. Can't have an FCD squad without at least one Smoo player

    GK-Cerberus the three-headed hell-dog
Superhuman reflexes. Multiple heads mean he can't be screened on a shot. Successfully guarded the gates of Hades for 3,000 years

I assume Josh Wicks will be available on Saturday for DCU, even though he shouldn't see a soccer field for at least 3 months minimum after his stomp job on a prone Montero last night.

It's stuff like that that the powers that be need to clean up in the game and Wicks should be sitting for a while because of it regardless of competition where it was committed.

Totally agree with you. And then Wick had the nerve to argue about the red card. I REALLY hope the incident gets reviewed and he gets some sort of general (MLS) fine/suspension for it, beyond the Open Cup context.

Wicks really impressed me before that incident too. I was thinking to myself, "who the hell is this guy? Didn't he play for one of LA's craptacular teams?" Then he did that and I lost a lot of respect for him. Hopefully Cunny makes an ass of him this weekend.

The only case Wicks would have had was if the center official didn't see it and neither did the linesman and the 4th was going off what he saw 50 yards away or (even worse) on video replay, which isn't suppose to be allowed (yet).

Why not just DVR the USMNT game and watch it immediately when you get home from the FCD game ? That was my tentative plan.

OTOH, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to avoid hearing the US MNT result blurted out sometime at PHP. Also, a ton of interesting College football games are will be on TV about the same time....

    A few reasons:

    1) I will admit that I support the USMNT more than FCD. I'm a country over club person. That's just my personal preference.

    2) I don't have DVR so I can't go back and watch it.

    3) There's also a UT game on at 6 and I want to be at a place where I can glance at both games.

    4) It's kind of a personal protest against MLS playing through the international calendar. Though, truthfully, I probably would have been there if it weren't for the Qualifier.

It's really sad. I know 4 people that would have gone to the game if the USMNT wasn't playing at the same time.

This might influence folks to come out to PHP. If they can manage to avoid SPOILERS at PHP, a tape-delayed USA watching party could be feasible.
