That's a good point. I think Jeremy_Goodwin got it right: this is more cultural event than soccer match. From a soccer perspective it's more McDerby than derby.
That's fine; if the weather is good, it could be an great day. It's always great to see Gillette filled for soccer, no matter what the circumstances.
