Anybody knows how much time left? By the way DDH, great job on the PBP. Rep coming your way. EDIT: Just saw that you mentioned 20 minutes to go right before my post
15 minutes left... a lot of crosses for Saprissa and yet they can't connect on target. RSL seem deflated. Thanks for the props...
I am already ahead. I really should think Saprissa oughta do a gira by South America some day. The only ones that gave us some fight were the Mexicans.
Saprissa is essentially wasting time. 12 minutes left, they're passing the ball around in their final third and then launching the ball over the top whenever there's trouble. RSL don't seem too concerned about getting on the score sheet.
Nunez almost single-handledly got us a goal. Dribbled around two defenders in the left hand of the box, rocketing a shot off of the keeper to which they couldn't control FIGHT! Yura just got knocked down.
A lot of pushing and shoving. Yura looked injured in the head, Nunez stood up for him and also got hit. Now there's 5 Saprissa players standing around Yuta even though it seems everyone else has calmed down. TWO REDS. Yura and Badilla
RSL is getting a little more life and is pushing for a goal. Alfaro takes a dive while RSL is on a break. Is he from Argentina?
Morales chips it to Mantilla who heads it towards Nunez? He skies it over the bar - though I think a foul was called on Mantilla. Four minutes left...
For a game most said they "didn't care about", RSL seems to be trying to get back in the game. But that is the key word. Trying. Two red cards to add to it, and a scuffle to further confirm it. Some advice: before you try to get on an imaginary high horse, first try to bridge the gap between you and your opponent, then talk.
RSL has a number of chances in the 88' - a couple of breaks with both Nunez & Morales - they just can't do anything with it. Wasted chances.
While I respect your passion for your squad - I wouldn't be too excited about the RSL team your boys are facing. Our tops strikers played in the first half with our best defender and essentially no midfield, and our top midfield played in the second half without our top strikers or defender. And that's when Saprissa pounced. GOAL - Wingert in the 90'. Saprissa 2 - RSL 1
GOL! Real Salt Lake 1-2 Deportivo Saprissa. I love how despite all the ranting and obnoxious attitude of the RSL fans, the all screamed the goal as if they won the MLS Cup.
sloppy goal, but they'll take it. It actually deflected off the keeper and rolled in. Nunez with the assit. 3 minutes of stoppage time. RSL almost scores again. Morales takes a free kick quickly and gives to Reiman who crosses into Nunez right in front of goal - he just couldn't get a foot on it.
It's times like this that I miss RSLFM. Who is going to step up and tell us that losing a friendly is the end of the world and that Kreis should be sacked?
It's called being a fan. You would have done the same if Saprissa was down 2-0 and they scored... admit it.
