Dear SSV member:
We know that a lot of you like to spread the word about how much fun it is to go see the Earthquakes. Thanks to a new incentive plan that the Earthquakes are offering SSV members, you can now earn rewards for doing just that!
Here's how it works:
You recommend potential season ticket buyers to the Quakes, and the Quakes' ticket staff will then contact those people on your behalf. If they purchase $1,000 of season tickets, you will receive an autographed photo with your favorite Earthquakes player. If you recommend fans who purchase season tickets totaling over $2,000, you receive the photo and a ball autographed by the home team. If your recommendations result in sales of $10,000 or more, you receive both those gifts as well as a private visit to an Earthquakes practice and coffee with Quakes GM John Doyle.
To participate, you can either send your recommendations to your season ticket rep or to Ted Firestone at (408) 556-7721 or tfirestone@sjearthquakes.com.
If you'd like more details, everything is spelled out here (PDF file).

We wanted to thank everyone who attended the Santa Clara City Council meeting on Tuesday, March 4. The team's special permit to use Buck Shaw as a temporary home stadium for up to three years was unanimously approved by the Santa Clara City Council.
On the subsequent Tuesday, March 11, San Jose's City Council voted unanimously to accept two reports on the economic impact of the proposed stadium project. These reports calculated an annual economic benefit of $62.3 million to the local economy if the soccer stadium project, including improvements to the iStar and remaining Airport West properties, goes forward as proposed. This was an important milestone since these reports represent an unbiased, third-party assessment of the stadium proposal and will serve as a foundation for further negotiations between the City of San Jose and Lew Wolff's team of investors.
The deal hasn't been completed yet but we are getting closer. We hope you will continue to support SSV and the Quakes as we reach the home stretch of this long journey.

Finally, we wanted to let you know that you can watch the Quakes play Red Bull New York this weekend online at USLLive.com. The game is tomorrow and starts at 5:15 p.m. It's the third game of the Carolina Challenge Cup, a trophy the Quakes have already won thanks to their victories over Toronto FC and the Charleston Battery in their first two matches in the tourney. Go Quakes!
Yours in Soccer,
SSV's Board of Directors
