Hello SSV member --

We have a few items for you today:

- The Santa Clara City Council is meeting Tuesday night to consider the Special Use permit that is required for the Quakes' use of Buck Shaw Stadium. While it is likely that this item will have the necessary support to advance, we'd like to make doubly certain of this by packing the City Council chambers with fans in Quakes gear. If you can make it, it will be appreciated. The meeting is Tuesday, March 4 at 6:00 p.m. and you can find a map here.

- We've got an added incentive for you to attend the SSV Annual Meeting on Saturday. The Earthquakes have generously donated a suite for Sunday's sold out match between the Mexico and Australia Olympic teams to the SSV Community Foundation and we'll be auctioning off seats! This is your opportunity to see some great soccer from a posh luxury box while contributing to a great cause. Bids start at $25 (less than half of face value) and we have 18 tickets available.

- As mentioned, the SSV Annual Meeting is Saturday. This year, it will take place on the patio at the Britannia Arms Downtown, 173 West Santa Clara St. in San Jose, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. You can find a map here. The main item on the agenda is the new Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation. We hope to see you all there!
