Yes, the striker currently in the Australian A-League with the Melbourne Victory. Scored four goals in last year's A-League grand final against Adelaide United at Telstra Dome -- after which, he couldn't get a contract offer in Europe after choosing to test the waters again (he had previously been on the books at PSV Eindhoven, but was unlucky to be in the back of a queue of players there who played the same position, including DaMarcus Beasley).
But the fact of the matter is that he is a lethal finisher, and wants to play at a higher level than where he's currently at, quite clearly. Playing in MLS would afford him that, and why not at the Quakes?

An update, as the Melbourne Victory's season is flagging behind on its championship achievements from last year -- and
Archie Thompson is clearly in the Victory's doghouse, suspended after the team's latest defeat.
Let's face it -- he's bored and complacent in the A-League, and needs a challenge, as well as a higher quality of play. A move to the Quakes oughtta do it.
