Yes, the striker currently in the Australian A-League with the Melbourne Victory. Scored four goals in last year's A-League grand final against Adelaide United at Telstra Dome -- after which, he couldn't get a contract offer in Europe after choosing to test the waters again (he had previously been on the books at PSV Eindhoven, but was unlucky to be in the back of a queue of players there who played the same position, including DaMarcus Beasley).
But the fact of the matter is that he is a lethal finisher, and wants to play at a higher level than where he's currently at, quite clearly. Playing in MLS would afford him that, and why not at the Quakes?  |

An update, as the Melbourne Victory's season is flagging behind on its championship achievements from last year -- and
Archie Thompson is clearly in the Victory's doghouse, suspended after the team's latest defeat.
Let's face it -- he's bored and complacent in the A-League, and needs a challenge, as well as a higher quality of play. A move to the Quakes oughtta do it.
