anyone else see that the "rapids" are going to mexico this month? and then a stop in england and spain in march? i wonder what team they might visit while there
There are clues all over the place people. World's Game Week?? Come on, duh. It is sooo obvious, this is the sly way to say Superbowl week. Duh, people. Suberbowl=Colts Most marketable player on Colts= Peyton Manning. New Colorado name: Colorado Peyton Manning
Gag Gag Gag. There is hope that the Colorado FO really isn't this lame. Chivas USA is enough. Then again, maybe the FO really is this clueless.
This is a pretty poor marketing effort from the FO. Let's count the mistakes. Spend a month pushing 2-1-07, only to reveal nothing Send out a Rapidfire email promising one of the most pivotal announcements at the end of the week, and announce nothing Provide no explanation for the lack of announcements Go live with a half finished Arsenal Colorado website, only to take it down 45 minutes later as they realized we were all looking at it Start The World's Game Week with a preseason training announcement instead of something significant to kick off the week In that announcement, refer to the non-existant Rapids.com, for not the first time this offseason In a league that has more than a few jokes of FO's (RBNY, FSL), Colorado is making a run for the biggest one of all.
So since people hate it when I get rid of my clothes and streak (alright, the guys hate it; the ladies secretly love it ), I streak all the time? I can't think of anything more basic than spelling and grammar for a press release than getting the URL correct. Seriously, I'm surprised that PR person hasn't been fired.
With the graphics of the continents, and now the reference to the World’s Game, I’m fairly certain we’re rebranding as “FC Earth”.
As a non-Rapids fan, I think Rapids is actually one of the best nicknames in the league, and you have the best shirt and colors (vert black and blues) by a very wide margin (if only something could be done about the horrific logo). I also have a soft spot for ole' Fernando. Add to that calling yourselves Arsenal in any way, shape or form will appear cheap and unimaginative (RBNY, Chivas USA, REAL Salt Lake anyone?), and I think Rapids should keep the name, keep the colors, and ditch the horrendous logo.
Brilliant! New news on the Rapids website confirming the signing of Roberto Brown (no surprises there) - but they reference 'Rapids.com' once again! Twice in one day they get the web address wrong! Ladies and gentlemen, your 2007 Colorado Rapids, um Arsenal - 'Changing the World's game so fast not even we can keep up with it'
Isn't there also an Arsenal FC in Buenos Aries? I don't see how the London club could claim trademark infringement in the U.S., but hasn't done so in Argentina.
Well, I'm already starting to think of the club as ArsCo, since Arsenal Colorado just takes too long to say. Unfortunately, www.arsco.com is already taken by Automotive Rebuilders Supply Company. It could be worse. Rapid Denver.
I realize that the Rapids are at the bottom of KSE's list as far as priorities go, but this is rediculous. Just get it over with already!!!
Getting a little irritated, aren't we? Step away from your computer, have a snack, sit on the couch and watch some TV. We're not losing fans because it says 'Rapids.com.'
Who said anything about losing fans. I'd just like to see a FO that cared about appearing professional.
I can tell you that Mr. Kroenke has never liked the name Rapids and wants to change it to Colorado Arsenols. Apparently there were some problems with using that name and now the Marketing department is scrambling!!
