the Rapids are doing a half-ass job at the name change, anxious to get the new colors out there, and don't see how that doing it with pics that still show Rapids on the "new shield" is 1/2-assed.
I bet they just haven't uploaded the final content version of these sites yet, but have made them available for public access, whereas before they were private and testing grounds.
I actually liked "RAPIDS" . . .oh well. On the bright side, you have a soccer team and a SSS. And I like the new colors too. Best of luck guys.
If they were changing their name, why upload all this content with the Rapids name still in print? I personally think that the front office is having some fun with people, and watching the message boards go wild. That really wouldn't surprise me too much. Can't beat free publicity.
At coloradoarsenal.com... Go to Fan Center... then wall paper... Logo WITH ARSENAL, top left corner Also, Current News... Colorado Rapids Unveil New Team Identity (February 23, 2007) When you try to open it, there is an error so far.
sorry for anyone in marketing out there but right now, I hate marketing wonks and the suits that buy into their hype
want more change - http://www.arsenalcolorado.com/Team/Roster.aspx Which former Real Madrid player is missing? LOL my bad - I see him now!
If you look at the NEWS-- Current news link, it says "Colorado rapids Unveil new team identity (February 23, 2007)"
Just for fun click on the TEAM box on the new site - a few of the Rapids (err Arsenal FC's) heads look amazingly like soccer balls.
What the... www.coloradoarsenal.com, the home page shows a shield with Rapids, the player profile page shows a shield with Arsenal. Just because I'm an Arsenal fan dosen't mean I like this... I wish they would quit screwing around and make this public.
this needs to stop we just caught wind of this on the CCSLC, 15 minutes ago, brutal, they aren't unveiling it for naother month almost yet alreadt it's leaked, plsu what was the point of the new loog if they are just changing the naem anyways? MLS = run by 3 year olds! go toronto fc still!
It kinda looks like they photo-shopped the new colors onto a lot of the player's jerseys as well. None of those guys have the old colors on.
If the marketing folks think the name change is such an important thing they can change it themselves and stick the old one up their keister.
