*So I ran into Jeff Cunningham tonight believe it or not. He was at the Jazz game. I asked him to tell me it aint so, and you know what he said? He had a big smile on his face, and from under his accent replied: "Don't fuss 'bout that. That's all politics. There is too much of a good thing here to let it all go away. Be positive that things will work out, and keep cheering the team." He was so damn positive, in the face of all of today's events. I told him he's a great player, he was robbed of the MVP, and that we want him here for years to come. I mean sh*t man, is there any other option for those of us that still have hope?
Re: "We aren't going any where" -J. Cunningham i won 3 dollars on the last powerball drawing. I am thinking about a sound investment in a league that is growing, that is solid, that will flourish for years to come. I am a bit weary to spend it all in one place though :/
Re: "We aren't going any where" -J. Cunningham I'm not sure I have ever been a fan of a team that has had a better personality attached to it that RSL and Jeff Cunningham. Thanks for the bit of fresh air.
Re: "We aren't going any where" -J. Cunningham I don't want to burst anyone's bubble (and personally I'm certainly looking to grasp a hold of any shred of good news), but is this the same Jeff Cunningham who said last July "I guarantee we're going to make the playoffs"? Just because he's a player doesn't mean he knows what's going on behind closed doors at the capitol.
Re: "We aren't going any where" -J. Cunningham No one said he did. We simply applaud his optimism during this dark period...
Re: "We aren't going any where" -J. Cunningham *By the way, the ORIGINAL title of the thread is HELL NO WE WON'T GO, don't go making it sound like I'm quoting Jeff Cunningham directly by saying "We aren't going anywhere". I never said he said that. Moderating is one thing, putting words in my mouth is another. My point was that he was positive as can be, and his optimist vibe wore off on me after talking with him for 5 minutes.
Re: "We aren't going any where" -J. Cunningham Well I certainly don't want to put words in anyone's mouth. I am not sure where "HELL NO WE WON'T GO" had to do with JC's quote but he did say "Be positive".
Re: "We aren't going any where" -J. Cunningham my question is: what were you and Cunny doing at a Jazz game? Supporting Jazz=Supporting Larry Miller=Supporting SLTrib=Supporting Anti-Stadium Media. Hence, by my calculations you must be against this whole stadium deal.
Re: "We aren't going any where" -J. Cunningham Hell No We Won't Go is my quote. It would look like this: "Hell No We Won't Go!" - Fuerza Real The way it was set up was "We aren't going anywhere" - Jeff Cunningham. Hell, if we're going to put up random quotes my vote is: "I'm paying for a 40,000 seat stadium with a roof, 4 jumbo-trons, midfield entrance, and Real Salt Lake spelled out in the seats. I've convinced Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho to come and join Adu, Cunny, and Medhi. Not one taxpayer dollar will go towards the project, as to assure the local politicians that they have enough money to continue to buy the massive amounts of manure that they apparently eat for breakfast each morning. Xango will run in all drinking fountains, and Tahitian Noni will be used to flush the toilets. Angels will assist the team to 5 straight MLS cups. I promise." - Elvis Presley.
Will the concession stand sell Crunchy Frog and Spring Surprise? We don't know why we fancy Peter Corroon so much so we decided to hate him.
What a cool guy! It's hard to be "positive" these days, but as far as I'm concerned, Jeff has been working hard for a long time to bring that air of positivity and excitement to Salt Lake. Now if he could just do something about this damn inversion! Couldn't have said it better myself!
That's awesome news. Cunny rocks! This is what I love about RSL, these guys are approachable. You think you would walk up to Carlos Boozer/Deron Williams and talk to them candidly for 5 minutes? I don't. For their sake I hope I'm wrong.
