US has 2 women and no men jajaja

CHILENOOO 05 Mar 2004 09:31 AM

As far as I'm concern, USA's men have not produced a superstar kind of player....the Women have...they have done it for years...that's why you don't see men in the USA's list....It probably was Fifa's decision to include women....if they are banned from the list, then, I would say that no US men should be even mentioned.

Let me start by talking about some of the men that should not be in the list ......CHILENOOO style.

Scotland
Kenny Dalglish - I think that they just wanted a guy from every country to be in the list..No way this guy should of made it.

Senegal
El Hadji Diouf - Same thing here ...he might be the best from Senegal but NEVER mentioned in the same sentence with Zico, or even Socrates

Spain
Luis Enrique ..ahhhh..this is pushing it, a bit...I would love to see another great one here.....I think Michel Gonzalez was much better. (Luis Enrique was included due to marketing)

Turkey
Emre Belozoglu
Rustu Recber - Again...for both of these players, they just needed a guy from every country...not the best of the best....maybe the list should be known as...¨Pele/Fifa's views of the best of every country¨

Ghana
Abedi Pele - you can see the trend here.

Italy
Christian Vieri - Vieri has some connections.

Japan
Hidetoshi Nakata - PLEASE!!!

Korea Republic
Hong Myung-bo - Oh my god!!!!

Netherlands
Dennis Bergkamp
Edgar Davids
Patrick Kluivert
Frank Rijkaard
Clarence Seedorf - All these guys have nothing to do with Van Basten, Johan Cruyff, etc..they probably should be considered as good, but WE ARE TALKING GREATS HERE!!! PLEASE.

Nigeria
Jay-Jay Okocha - Oh yeah...a nigerian man missing.

Northern Ireland
George Best - Did they get the name BEST confused with as in BEST in the world?????

Paraguay
Missing Chilavert....he was a leader on his own time...I would consider him a best¨ of the world..just because of his leadership.

Poland
Zbigniew Boniek - Oh yeah..Poland needed a guy to be named...(sarcastic)....He is good but not the BEST...again.

Portugal
Rui Costa - Have no problem with Figo or Eusebio...but this guy Rui Costa....I just think that he made it because he is famous...nothing to do with BEST...

Argentina
Hernan Crespo - OH why on earth is this guy here...
Javier Saviola - Oh why on earth is this guy here part II
Juan Sebastian Veron - I would consider him as one of the best....he is probably on the line...I will just mention that he is almost in....not yet though
Javier Zanetti - Best....again..and again....we are saying best in the world...so....oh why on earth is this guy here....part III.

Belgium -- For Belgium they missed a guy here......Jean Claude Van Damme...
Jan Ceulemans
Franky van der Elst
Jean-Marie Pfaff - he was among the best.....I agree with this one...

Chile
Elias Figueroa -- This is why I.m talking best....Don Elias known in Brasil and Uruguay as Don Elias¨, Three times in a row he was the best in SA for the year.....he is considered the closest thing to Beckenbauer.
Ivan Zamorano -- BEST too.....best leader...best in guts.....great one too. (NO sarcasm)

England
Michael Owen -- The only problem I got with Fifa is that they do stuff because of marketing....image....Owen was labeled as the next big thing.....in my opinion he has been the next big nothing.....

Well that was kind of my point....no Schmeicel, Giggs, Garrincha....and yes to a polish, senegal, and Korean players....just to name a few....
Even in important teams...they have some flaws....Vieri is an example....who in their right mind would choose Vieri over Garrincha...???

DanRod78 05 Mar 2004 11:48 AM

I think is funny that Beckham is on that list

Rui Costa- Didn't he just lose his starting position in Milan to a 22 year old kid?

Crespo, Saviola, Veron - Uhhhh, how about Pablo Aimar

Holland - Where's Koeman?

Brazil - Where's Careca?

Sweden - Where's Martin? (WC94 top scorer that lead Sweden to the semifinal)

CHILENOOO 05 Mar 2004 01:27 PM

Belgium's Vincenzo Scifo didn't make the list....that guy was on every Belgium team since 1990 and up....I'm not saying he is one of the best, but he is one of the best in Belgium...

Frank Cunha 05 Mar 2004 01:30 PM

no Garrincha? by far a top 10 player in the World

Coluna, Jose Aguas and Matateu deserve to be on the top 100

Pibe#10 05 Mar 2004 03:03 PM

yes, but these are living players....
