Oh dear! It's looking like Pakistan has gained an upper hand.
Pakistan 300-9 in 50 overs with Shoaib Malik scoring 143 off of 127 balls.
India is down to 157-5 with 8 overs remaining, and the only recognized batsman left is Tendulkar, batting on 51.
Viru Sehwag choked again, out on 1 playing an irresponsible shot.

One of the most negative, uninspired, and tepid performances by India against Pakistan in a long time.
241-8 at the end of 50 overs needing 301 to win. All they ensured was that Pakistan didn't get their bonus point. No attempt to win the match at all.
Pathetic, truly pathetic.

England in a very comanding position over West Indies in the first test at Lords... as usual its all up to Lara (and Chanderpaul, and Banks). Funny I don't see a draw happening... either England get Lara out before before Tea, or WI win the game... I know I am being optimistic... its getting harder and harder to do these days...

England beat West indies by 210 runs. Chanderpaul left stranded on 97, it would have been nice for him to get another ton.

well chandu, why'd they do so bad?

well chandu, why'd they do so bad?I'm not sure if India has taken this tournament as seriously as some others. However, this can never be a justifiable excuse. Especially for any India vs. Pakistan match, which is a huge derby. Just like how Liverpool vs. Everton or Celtic vs. Rangers derbies always evoke passion, irrespective of how crap each of them are playing in the season, India vs. Pakistan is the same way. When both of them face each other, there is always an extra revenge factor on the line to play for.
Give credit to Shoaib Malik for good batting. But 300 is not an out of the ordinary score. I blame the collapse of Indian batting more than anything else. Especially a temperamental player like Sehwag is a liability. When going is good, he's great. But I find him to be somewhat crazy. He gives no regard to which opponent he's facing, what is the situation in the match, etc. and tries to play the same shot for a given ball irrespective of the circumstances. In short, the discipline factor is clearly lacking for him.

Anyway, enough ranting. Next match is on Tuesday - Sri Lanka vs. India. Sri Lanka doesn't really need to win it, and are giving some time to their youngsters. Murali, in particular won't play. India on the other hand, have their back to the wall.

Well Viru, sorry I got on your case. But when it mattered, you really came through. 81 runs in 92 balls, and 3 valuable wickets. What more is there to ask for? But I'll stick by the statement that you're a crazy freak. But today, you're loved in India, such as you are.

Can anyone tell me why Sky Sports has an obsession with Brian Lara? For god sakes, they even interviewed him after France beat England in the Euros.

ALL OUT!
8.25.04
102, 102, 101, 102- no that’s not my total runs in my recent Twenty20 game but my temperature, thus the reason we haven’t seen an AllOut recently. I’m feeling better, thanks.
-clouds cancel out games in the Netherlands/VideoCon Cup. It’s not clouds of marijuana smoke, but the ones that carry rain.
-APC American unprofessional Cricket ends it regular season b/c, and I quote directly from its site
–------------
The games in CH was cancelled because of the lack of importance of the game. Pro Cricket has a policy of not playing the games that have no importance to them on the points table. CH could not have made the play off even if they won the game therefore Pro Cricket chose to not play the games.
To those who were looking forward to these games Pro Cricket sincerely apologizes for the inconvinience.
Sincerely,
Pro Cricket

so, with this understanding, I’d say at least a dozen teams in Major League Baseball should just close up shop for the season. This is the anvil that breaks the camel’s back for me. yes, anvil, not straw. The entire season there were problems with the league, ranging from an hour delay b/c someone forgetting the wickets to not allowing pace bowling due the pitches conditions. I was one of the people that always said give it a chance, give it a chance, but seriously, the canceling of games b/c the are deemed not important is absolutely crazy, and definitely not professional.
-the ICC champions trophy start in 16 days, over at cricketweb.net they have a fantasy cricket thingy set up for, go and check it and play against people from all over the world
-the aussie domestic season starts Oct 10, Bulls plan on Blitzing NSW
-the APC playoffs have been announced, pending the leagues feeling that the games won’t be deemed pointless, the schedule is ---- actually I am not even going to mention it, really does it matter? Will this ‘league’ or moreso a collection of exhibitions be around next year? Ok, I won’t be that bitter, aug27 jersey plays texas, aug29 Florida plays SanFran, and the final is maybe sept3.
-I admit I have been watching the Olympics, enjoying the women’s beach volley especially with the swimmers the ladies wear! It gets me to think, honestly, how great would it have been to watch Twenty20? Seeing a possible India-Pak final, maybe the Black Caps shocking the Aussies in the semi’s, England finally doing better in a non-test match?
-Talking about the Olympics, in 2012 Baseball will be huge with all the MLB’ers playing if it’s held in NYC, or Twenty20 will be constant sell-outs if it goes to England. The big question is, does that mean there has to be a Great Britain team, and no England, Scotland, or Wales?
-ok, i'm all out...... wait, one last thing, shameless plug, read all this and maybe more at www.BigCricket.com (no relation to any other "big" sites)
