Our beloved rivals to the north seem to think that their stadium is too small.

With Ashburton Grove now with the go-ahead, how do you think ManU's expansion plans will play in London?

i dont think we will add more seats for the moment coz all the plans are in place e.t.c.... and in general its just a pain in the arse!
i went to a few of the champs league games at wembley a few years ago and i think from that we could easily fill out 100,000 every game. same with manure
funny tho that as soon as arsenal say they gonna build new stadium men utd all of a sudden upgrade theirs! - keeping up with the jones'

I doubt we could afford more seats.

No it doesn't i remember reading an article in which the club did a feasibily study & the results of it showed that stadiums over a 60,000 capacity begin to proportionately lose money as the capacity are increased. This is the optimum capacity for our club.

Does anybody know whether Ashburton Grove is being built in a way so Arsenal could add more capacity if they chose to do so down the road? I think 60,000 is great for the time being, but I'm just curious about whether the potential for further expansion exists. I don't think I've ever read anything about that issue before.

There are no expansion plan's Islington council gave there backing with the explicit understanding that the stadium would hold 60,000 people only. It's in the middle of town, unlike other stadium locations so it would be rather difficult to disperse 70,000+ more people after matches.

They are terrified that if we make as much money as them, they will have serious competition on the transfer market.
Go Gunners!

i have a computer generated view of the inside of the grove with stands filled and a match going on and it doesn't look like there is room for extra seats zonagunner but of course i am far from a expert of stadiums.
